Armchairwarrior 3 Posted August 29, 2017 Thielen was playing the slot and Bradford is a game manager so I would tend to think he has the higher per upside in this offense. Thoughts?
Borat33 17 Posted August 29, 2017 I'm liking Thielen. Will see a ton of targets in that slot and had a very good season a year ago. I think he improves his numbers in this new role.
cyclone24 1,913 Posted August 29, 2017 Yep....grabbed Adam late as a number 5 WR with massive upside. Think he'll lead the team in catches.
touchdowntwitaker 2 Posted August 29, 2017 Week to week - un predictable. Diggs has awesome talent - I'd be all in if he was a #1 on a crappy team like SF, Buff, CLeve, etc.... This offense no one will be consistent. I'd take Diggs with the higher number at end of the year. Thielan might have higher floor week to week. Diggs - middle of pack #3 WR (and i love him - his sitch holds him back) - Theilan is a nice bye week replacement #4 or #
brotherbock 349 Posted August 29, 2017 What it looks like to me is that a lot of Diggs' routes are slot-like routes, even though he's outside. He's running a lot of crossing short stuff. I'm not analyzing film, just watching a bit of pre-season. But from where he's ending up on the field in his route, you couldn't tell he'd started on the outside. I don't think Bradford's checkdown style is going to keep him from throwing to Diggs.
Ray_T 753 Posted August 29, 2017 Thielen was playing the slot and Bradford is a game manager so I would tend to think he has the higher per upside in this offense. Thoughts? I really think it depends how good the line is. I have heard there has been improvement, but I dont think the improvement was large. A terrible line means you are going underneath to the slot WR more often. A good line means you have time to sit in the pocket and throw downfield. I figure the slot will do well in this offense, but it wouldnt surprise me if they opened things up a bit. Especially if the line does a better job in protection. NAn 39 Posted August 29, 2017 Theilen had 69-967-5 in an 18th ranked passing/below average overall offense. Per his ypr, if he can manage to get to say 75recs, you'd likely have a 1000yd reciever w/5- 7 TDs in 11th round. He's someone I'm targeting on the cheap in my auction leagues. LoOnAtIk 75 Posted August 29, 2017 I'm all over Thielen for my WR4-WR5 depending the format. That week 15 game vs the packers is better than anything you'll ever get out of Diggs.
weepaws 3,173 Posted August 29, 2017 I'm going to target Diggs. But I'm not going to try very hard, so if I end up with Thielen it will be a good value pick I always like to go with the home run guy when taking a wr from a team that could be very limited on moving the ball. weepaws 3,173 Posted August 29, 2017 How about in a ppr league, Decker or R Matthews?
We Tigers 71 Posted August 29, 2017 Diggs is my top WR breakout for this year. Legit think he'll be top 12 and would have drafted him at that price if I had to do it. I like Thielen, too, but I think Diggs has season-winning potential if you draft him around WR25-30 or so. The last guy I felt this strongly about was Allen Robinson in 2015, so let's hope I got a thing going here.
seafoam1 2,964 Posted August 29, 2017 I'm in on Thielen.
wizbang 10 Posted August 29, 2017 I wouldn't be surprised to see Theilen get off to the better start, but think the Vikings would mix things up of that happened. They know Diggs is a playmaker and will find ways to get him touches.

Doubt they have trouble on offense as it's improved. Was t Bradford most accurate ever last year? He loves padding his stats with rb passes and possession guys. I'd go Theilan ppr but Diggs in best ball or standard only at a discount.

He still has Bradford throwing to him in a conservative offense that leans on the defense. Yes, should be improved but they were 28th scoring, 23rd yrds last yr...so even improvement could mean just middle the road/still lower end offense. WTS IDK about top12, but wouldn't be completely surprised if he got there or midteens. For me real appeal for Theilen is the 11th round ($1-3 in auction) ADP v Diggs 6th round ($10-14). Gepetto 1,358 Posted August 30, 2017 Both. I had both last year and will be able to keep Diggs and I will draft Thielen in an auction league.
