If this was happening to a non trump president this board would crucify him. He just kind of gets a dirtbag pass though.

Trump has convinced conservatives to stop being conservative, I can't help that, but it's up to individuals and what values they hold.

Wel, itnshouidnt be a surprise. He didn't run as a traditional conservative. And Obama and Hillary convinced liberals to align themselves with Wall Street and not the working class. And they paid for it, big time. That's what you ought to concern yourself with.

Hypocrisy and the GOP and their supporters go hand in hand.

I can entirely evaluate how I feel about the character of the current President without reference to anyone else, thanks.

This is true, he never claimed to be a typical conservative and thats part of the appeal that got him elected. People were tired of the same song and dance on both sides.

What you posted is a complete lie. Not surprised, though, since you're a liar.

I'm sure you gave Bill Clinton a pass, so why not Trump? You cry and cry on how much the Clintons have been so persecuted all these years.

Most of us were about 13 years old when Clinton was President.

Sure, he never claimed to be a conservative and he's not. But that's him. The ridiculous thing is so many of his followers think of themselves as conservative or, even more ridiculous, evangelical.

The only conservative that fits the bill of what you feel a conservative is was Cruz. He was never going to beat Hillary, which was the most important thing. So if Conservatives didn't get everything they want, they were obviously ok with that, as they would have got nothing from her. Besides, it wasn't conservatives that got him elected. It was democrats switching over that did. And not racism or Russians either.

Cruz, Rubio, Graham, Bush, Fiorina, Kasich, Huckabee, Jindal, Paul, Perry, Santorum & Walker were all better on family values and character hands down.

And all would have lost, and never have gotten democrats to switch. I'm sorry you think that conservative voters shouid have picked a sure loser, but they took what they could get. Smart.

Sure and in the meantime voters who think they believe character is important elected a piece of excrement as president.

Trump is the most conservative president in decades, even more than Reagan, according to conservative think tank Heritage Foundation.

Policies are what matter at the end of the day.

We live in an era where the Dems have mainstreamed rape, sexual assault, pedophilia, trannies, gays, etc.

Trump not being a committed husband pales in comparison to any of that.

True conservatives recognize Trump's accomplishments in office. Faux conservatives clutch their pearls over tweets and decade old infidelities.

I'll lay out what I think is conservative and how Trump stacks up:

  • Family values, religion, character - this, as has been honestly pointed out by HT and others has been completely abandoned by Trump and his followers. Trump has been disgraceful in office, and he has a disgraceful history before office. Being 'not a committed husband' is the least of it.
  • Deficit control - 1 trillion + $$$ in deficit. It would be another 1.5 trillion + if he could get his infrastructure plan through, which is in itself is a yearly liberal demand.
  • Debt - currently headed for the moon.
  • Competence - Two government shutdowns in a year in office, and 40% (roughly?) of the positions in his administration not only unfilled but also not nominated.
  • National security - literally kisses Vladimir Putin's feet, ass, whatever he can pucker up on. Abandons our allies and our commitments regularly.
  • Constitution - he never mentions it. He just totally volunteered to take away guns without due process. Regularly calls for limiting free speech.
  • Love of democracy and American values - the man just praised President Xi for becoming president for life and expressed a desire to do so himself.
  • Immigration - yep credit is due for getting immigration down on the border to where it is supposed to be, however he just goes the extreme by seeking to exclude people based on race and religion. That's nationalism, not conservatism.
  • Respect for law enforcement - regularly tears down the FBI.
  • States rights - no respect. Constantly seeks to subvert local police powers.
  • Trade - opts out of two agreements only to see them go into place without us, threatens another, is now going after the WTO and puts in place tariffs who hurt our allies and help our enemies the most, and also will hurt jobs here at home.
  • Taxes - yep the tax cut is nice but it's mostly about the corporations.
  • Economy - yeah it's going well and he does emphasize positivity about it but of course he likes to take chances with it like screwing with the world markets on a whim by just levying tariffs out of nowhere, which is not conservative at all.

Funny how this horrible, corrupt Robert Mueller guy was voted unanimously by a republican Congress to extend his tour to the second longest in the history of the FBI. Widely respected on both sides of the aisle. That is, until Trump get his tit in a wringer. And you guys literally eat anything he says up with a spoon.

So, stormy is suing the president now? G, if anybody should be suing, it sounds like his lawyer who never got reimbursed by Trump for paying a hooker.

Seriously, the Evangelicals snd the fundies come out at the very bottom of the shitt stick when it comes to their blind support of Donald Trump.

Good post up there Saints, a good breakdown of the other side (pretty much the whole countries side except this forum and bumpkin white trash).

Its really hard for Trump since the media will spin anything he does negatively. He could cure cancer and people would find a way to put a negative twist on it. Hes sledding uphill for his opposers respect thats for sure.

He is the biggest family man to ever sit in the oval office.

The fundies, what's left of them, can stay home next election as long as Trump keeps those democrats that flipped and still win

This is the New World, buddy. None of those guys would have been POTUS if this had been in place and maybe, just maybe, the country might not have the deficits we have today. [cue the music]... and I hope that someday, we can have First Ladies who look good in ball-gags with their gorgeous asses up in the air waiting to receive John Q. Public's phallus. We will have record surpluses and people will finally be happy. If not now, then WHEN?!!!?? [drops mike]

If you believed the Russian collusion nonsense, you would have to believe Putin preferred Trump over Hillary. That never made sense.

Something else that cracks me up about this - there's been a lot of debate about the peepee story from the Steele dossier. Me, personally, I'd say.... nah I doubt that is really true, or at least not 100% true. And this is literally the story that Comey said was "salacious and unverified", that is he wasn't referring to the whole dossier but the peepee tape story in particular, and he was right.

But, this, the Stormy Daniels story, is salacious and verified. Stormy said that not only did he have an affair with her, a porn star, but he offered to pay for sex. And according to her he also offered to pay another porn star for sex. They both turned him down. Annnnd in her lawsuit Stormy's contract shows they negotiated pictures and texts. And Trump paid her to keep that quiet. This is exactly what it was claimed happened to Trump in the dossier, and the excuse that he is a stable genius who would never fall into such a trap is obviously false. I don't think this proves anything of course. His body guard Keith Schiller did testify that Trump was offered prostitutes and that he turned them down, but he claims he left Trump's door at some point, which seems kind of unlikely given what was going on. All in all it makes the peepee story part of the dossier even more believable. It's salacious, just like the Stormy story, but unlike Stormy it's still as of now unverified.

Well specifically, oil and gas sanctions alone might be worth $1 trillion.

I don't think Russia is having any difficulties selling their oil, sanctions or not. Especially since there aren't any. Obama didn't feel the need to go there. Why would Hillary? They made such a sweet deal with the uranium. You guys have lost it.
