Meanwhile, two more lawyers who are supposed to replace Trump's last lawyer very quietly decided they had conflicts and couldn't be part of his legal team.

You know how bad you have to suck as a client not to be able to get a lawyer in DC of all places?

it turns out, character DOES matter. You can’t run a family, let alone a country, without it. How foolish to believe that a person who lacks honesty and moral integrity is qualified to lead a nation and the world! Nevertheless, our people continue to say that the President is doing a good job even if they don’t respect him personally. Those two positions are fundamentally incompatible.

Not true slappy... I don't give two craps what he did over a decade ago while he was a private citizen. But yes on the surface is morals don't appear to be great. However that doesn't mean he's still not doing things exactly the way I want him to do them.

See slapnuts his indiscretions don't affect me whatsoever. They don't affect our household income my insurance our military and my military friends, or border security.

So much in the same way you bored liberals turned a blind eye when Bill was stuffing cigars in an intern's ass and still thought he was doing a good job..... I'll mention again he was actually the president while he was doing this..... Is the same way we justify his morality level with his performance.

Again you loved Obama because he was a guy you could go have a beer with and he was friendly and blah blah blah blah. I don't give a crap about that. And most voters don't either.

Our most serious concern, however, is not with those in Washington; it is with the American people. What has alarmed me throughout this episode has been the willingness of my fellow citizens to rationalize the President’s behavior even after they suspected, and later knew, that he was lying. Because the economy is strong, millions of people have said infidelity is just a private affair–something between himself and his (third) wife. We've heard it time and again: “As long as he is doing a good job, it’s nobody’s business what he does with his personal life.”

That disregard for morality is profoundly disturbing to me. Although sexual affairs have occurred often in high places, the public has never approved of such misconduct. But today, the rules by which behavior is governed appear to have been rewritten specifically for the President. We now know that this then 60-year-old man had sexual relations repeatedly with a woman 33 years his junior.

Me neither. But the hush money right before running is relevant even if the affair isnt.

if Donald had a (D) in front of his name instead of an (R ), you wouldn't give two shats about this. Don't even bother trying to lie.

I wouldn't care if a candidate was gay as long as that wasn't their only agenda. Obama fooled me, ran as a centrist and at times actually said the colored needed to straighten up. But it was a ruse, he went full leftist/race baiter in his second term. So I don't care who Trump focked or is focking. I was more concerned with him bringing Goldman Sachs on board. But he didn't /doesn't listen to them so it's not so bad.

This "news" still going on... This is such a non-story...

His lawyers actions and the lies and cover up and possible threats are not a non story.

The pay offs and much of whaay be the real issue were not 10 years ago. They were right before the election and into his presidency.

You get that, right?

Let us know when an equivalent situation involving a Dem(like John Edwards) comes up and is covered or judged the differently. TIA.

"He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of this country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man….The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy this gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people." - Samuel Adams

"We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." - John Adams

It's important to note that these men also passionately believed in "liberty of conscience" which acknowledges every man's (God given) right to his religion or lack thereof.

I'm saying this because I understand why people with a fundamental distaste for theism get vexed by quotes like this. Morality mattered in the heart, in the character, not in the sense of coercing religious allegiance. That's immoral.

Are we talking about BC or DT? Either way I could care less. One difference is DT did it before he was Pres and BC did it during his presidency. Of all the things politicians do having an affair is one of the least harmful acts to the people they are supposed to serve.

Kind of agree. While I would be fine if all politicians, and possibly future politicians, were completely moral and perfect, that just isn't the case. What BC did, as far as the affair, is in my opinion far worse than what Trump did......But then again, this isn't a comparison for me. Even if BC didn't do what he did, I am not going to get in a tizzy because DC hit that 12 years ago and THEN tried to buy her silence during the campaign. While not a huge fan of that, it just seems petty and there are bigger things to focus on.

More "he said, she said" and allegations and the lefties lap it up like a porn star at a bachelor party.

problem is, The stripper said something very similar independently too. And it's not the first time or second time or third time that Trump was caught basically saying he wants to fuuck his daughter. Remember when he told Stern how hot Ivanka was and if she wasn't his daughter...

Even Stern iicked out.😂

Note that this doesn't say anything about adultery in or outside of the White House?

He should have had the meeting on a tarmac. Just said they were talking about grandkids. It was good enough for the FBI then, should be ok now.

Never mind, I can get his response from MSNBC ("Where Truth Goes To Die").
