(OFFICIAL) *****70's Music Draft***** LOD UP

Recommended Posts

Leads to a lot of ambiguity though... You could just go fishing for live albums with versions of songs from the middle of the 60s or earlier that way. If it's a different band or something that makes sense, otherwise you are really just dodging the subject of this draft itself (70s songs).

Agreed

Fair enough, if you are talking about a live release version by the same band, I agree. I hadn't really thought through your point, sorry. Different band version, it is good.

So let it be written... :bandana:

Is anyone hanging around tonight for this, only asking because I'm thinking about saying no to the bar and drinking here with our hand picked tunes.

I do kinda wish we could include 1969 though. That's about when "70s music" started IMO. Not saying we should, just saying...

At some point I need to throw my wife 30 seconds of my pencil of love. Also dinner. But otherwise I plan to be around. She knows I'm doing this and has even influenced my draft (like, "pfft, don't take a 3rd Sabbath song," only to have War Pigs taken later that round. )

But, I don't want to stop you from having fun.

9.1 I Got A Name - Jim Croce

Great pick. I saw Croce's son play piano at... Croce's in San Diego. One of the best musicians I've ever seen perform.

Fun to me is getting sh!tfaced and listening to and talking about music, movies, sports etc. Seeing that I'll be at a bar tomorrow I was thinking about staying here, just didn't know if the place would be dead.

Anyhow,I'm staying put if worse comes to worse I'll have a party for one while the mrs does whatever it is she does.

Did we decide on 20 rounds, or are we still doing 16?

IIRC we only had about 1/3 vote to extend. I'm all in if you guys are.

My wife is on this self-improvement kick of drinking less, meh... we used to drink together, now I'm sometimes drinking alone which isn't as fun. Oh, and her dad is a (now somewhat failed) recovering alcoholic so when she isn't drinking, I maybe hear about it from her. Like last night she was "proud" of me for now opening another bottle of wine close to bedtime (we had had an open one, I didn't drink the whole other bottle).

But, she was pretty horny, so maybe there is something to this drinking less thing? :dunno:

I do kinda wish we could include 1969 though. That's about when "70s music" started IMO. Not saying we should, just saying...

What a great year. I'm so getting in the 60s draft. If we did the worse songs of the 60s I would clean up just on Elvis soundtracks

Keeping it mellow with another 1st time appearance by this artist.

An obvious choice would be to go with his most popular song, but I dont really like it that much and it was released in 1967.

So, we get the title track from his 1970 Masterpiece instead.

9.03. Moondance Van Morrison

This live version features Dr. John and Etta James and Carlos Santana!

Great pick. Another song from that album is one of my favorites. I will probably pick it later.
