(OFFICIAL) *****70's Music Draft***** LOD UP

Recommended Posts

If no one objects I wouldn't mind handing over my team to TEK. He seems to know this music much better than I and I think it would be beneficial for the draft to have someone a bit more knowledgeable than myself.

absolutely!

Well, since HT took my Springsteen song, I'm gonna go R&B.

This is probably a reach, but I would hate to see it go somewhere else. I focking love this sing.

7.1 - Ain't No Sunshine - Bill Withers

Another Steal! Great song.

Seems to me that he took the MM version, and the BS version is still out there for anybody (TBBOM?) to take.

As for Fandandy/TEK do it if that's OK with TEK

Nah. Too many great songs to pull sh!t like that. I thought of it this morning and was excited. Figured I would take Tiny Dancer First, figuring HT already had a boss song and it was safe.

Figured wrong. Lol. Great pick.

Classic.......and he's great!

I love that whole genre. The old R&B. Ottis Redding. Sam Cooke. Even back to the Billy Holliday stuff. This song is one of the greats, and one of the few from the 70's that I know of.

I'll bow out. Now go see if you can get me more than two votes. I'm rootin' for ya.

I'll take over the picks, but it's OUR team. You've done too much not to get credit.

Huh. I figured this pick would be largely panned around here. Apparently it was a good decision to pull the trigger before someone else did. I thought this thing would go rock really deep while I start picking off the other genres.

Q: What is more rock and roll than a flaming queer screaming about child molestation and fat chicks over top a driving drum beat and a rip roaring guitar riff?

A: Nothing

Glad to pass on the previously picked songs from this band to land this one instead.

7.03. Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen.

I can see this being my youngest son's sig line some day. That boy is fearless. Dangerously so sometimes. On our first visit to the Grand Canyon, he nearly gave me a heart attack by dancing and jumping along the rim. He couldn't understand why I was so upset.

 I'd say it's their best song ever, although I really liked We're Ready(which I almost took in the 80's draft) and then from the early 2000's they had a song called Corporate America.

Gotta say fellas, I'm impressed. You fockers know your sh!t. Looking forward to the deep weeds, where the obscure favorites lie.

So who's the one that got away for you so far?

I'm gonna have to go with Lola, by the Kinks. I love that song, but for some reason had the Kinks in the 60's category in my head. I kicked myself on that pick.

Damn. My list is getting gang raped lately. Nice pick.

Sorry....It's hard getting what you want, the competition is getting fierce and there's soooooo much great stuff to choose from. I simply didn't think this song would last past the 3rd or 4th round and it helps strengthen my "Team".

(Don't Fear) the Reaper

My on-deck song Kashmir lasted from 1.8 all the way to 2.8 but the next time the draft went that-a-way at the end3/early4 it was brutal. The whole time though, I was thinking "Godd@mn they're really scoring, oh well, at least Blue Oyster Cult is still there" .... then ... "NO! Fock!"

Sent me scrambling.

No worries. I considered it, but its not really my genre. I'm more a folky/singer songwriter guy. We're about to get out of the titans of rock land. I have some obscure sh!t ready for the late rounds.

In the 80's draft, I went to hit heavy. I want to hear Huh? WTF song is that? Followed by I like it a few times this go round.
