****Official 60s Music Draft**** (Complete)

Have to agree with George Martin. His decision to not include Fields on Sgt Pepper was an awful one.

George Martin? The Game of Thrones writer?

edit: god I'm stupid.

When I worked at K-Mart coming out of high school this was one of the roughly 6 songs they played over their loudspeaker over and over and OVER again. Making me wanna murder everyone in the store. Yet here I am, repping it 20 years later cuz it's such a great tune.

2.16 Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay - Otis Redding

Nice pick. I was hoping this would slide to the middle rounds for me.

Bedtime in china boys and girl.

Elvis!, I sent you five songs. I would hope two of them will be available when my turns come, but the way you guys are mowing down picks I thought would last a while, who knows.

So many different ways to go here. I want everything from my list, but every time I check in, a huge chunk of it gets taken out.

Im gambling that other favorites will still be there when Im up next.

According to Rolling Stone magazine's Top 500 Songs, "Mustang Sally nearly ended up on the studio floor - literally. After Pickett finished his final take at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the tape suddenly flew off the reel and broke into pieces. But the session engineer, the legendary Tom Dowd, calmly cleared the room and told everyone to come back in half an hour. Dowd pieced the tape back together and saved what became one of the funkiest soul anthems of the '60s."

3.04 Mustang Sally - Wilson Pickett

Shoutout the the swampers at Mussle Shoals for laying down the groove.

I've learned through the years that you have to take what you want when you want or you won't be happy with your "team".

Like everyone else says - so many directions to go. Now that we have passed the self noted Elvis fan and his sex toy (with a candy cane in her butt) I will grab this now.

"Suspicious Minds" was widely regarded as the single that returned Presley's career success, following his '68 Comeback Special. It was his eighteenth and last number-one single in the United States.

3.06

Suspicious Minds

Great song, band

But I have no clue who half of the players in this draft are, greatly because of multriple aliases. :dunno:

The problem is I have to wait almost 40 picks before its my turn again. So, I need to reach a bit for the songs I really want, or my team will end up looking like a Time Life compilation instead of a mobb_deep compilation.

Was planning on taking Bowie/Stooges with my 1/2, but Hey Jude fell and now I dont get my Bowie song!!!
