****Official 60s Music Draft**** (Complete)

She was listening to a cover version by some chick. I suggested we use it (planning on swapping the original in later of course). She said she needs to look at the lyrics first. I'm sure they'll pass muster.

Yeah, theyre perfect really.

Fogerty put out a project a few years ago where he rerecorded a bunch of CCR classics with other artists,if you're interested here's the version of Fortunate Son with him and Dave Grohl.

I've not listened to much current music but have heard some great cover songs by current artists as good as the original songs, sadly this one doesn't work for me. But thanks for sharing. Maybe another will come across.

He had told me friday night that he would take it #1 overall. I went with that and gave it to him. We're back to him. He said over 2 hours ago that he was going out for a couple of hours and to move on after 20 minutes. I'm thinking move on. The trains rolling lets keep it going for a few more hours.

1.18 Hey Jude - Beatles

Planned on waiting on the Beatles, as they have so many great tunes. But, you guys went and let whats arguably their most iconic tune slide to me, so I feel obliged.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_MjCqQoLLA

My 2nd fav Beatles tune. I used to sing it to my son when he was an infant and it calmed him right down. He still likes to listen to it.

It's awful. In GTA 4 they selected Iggy Pop to DJ the classic rock station and his selections were almost all trash. Ruined what should have been their best station. This is one song from there.

I was like "Am I hearing this correctly? He wants to be a dog? This really totally completly sucks."

I also hate CCR. Turn the station hate. Glad to be on the opposite side of the spectrum again with you. It made for a good 90s draft, so Im sure the 60s will be a laugh too.

yes

My only thought was........

Without hearing that, why would you choose a song so early that I've never heard of and can practically guarantee that is not even close to being on another persons list?

I like every song on that list and figured at least 4 out of those 5 would be drafted in the first

I'm not going to hold your music taste against you.

In that 90s draft, your list was the one I was most unhappy with but it's quite popular with others, tied with jerry for most votes.

If youve never heard of The Stooges or Iggy Pop, Im not sure what to tell you. Youre definitely missing the equivalent of Elvis or the Beatles in Punk Rock.

How would I know what people would pick? I looked over some top 100 lists, and it was top 20 on all of them. Iggy Pop basically created my favorite genre of music. The tune is way heavier than anything else that will be picked in this draft. Its my absolute favorite tune from the era. Why would I not pick it?

ETA: I bet theres not more than 1 or 2 other people that dont have that tune in their top 50ish. Let alone on their entire list. Hell, even I have Beach Boys on my list. It might be queer, but its still iconic.

I visited a customer in Clearwater last year. Did they write it near the strip club, the Applebee's, or the strip club? :dunno:
