Cruzer 1,993 Posted October 24, 2018 Who trades a #1 for a wr who's lead the League in drops and who wasn't even the best wr on his own team? Only 1 dumbass team out there willing to do that - and Oakland found them. .........Hell, you don't trade #1s for WRs in the first place - ever! :wall: What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results? Expecting Abbott & Costello (after 9 years) to lead this team to anywhere is like expecting the Great Pumpkin to finally show up. The fact this franchise thinks they're 1 WR away from (seriously) contending tells you all you need to know about how completely out of touch and clueless they truly are. @Philly, @Atlanta, Washington, N. Orleans, Philly - that's what's on the horizon... If this team wins the Division, with 4 losses already in the bank - it will have to be (at best) 9-7..... Whoopie, let's start the parade planning. Cruzer 1,993 Posted October 24, 2018 I tell you another thing, and I've mentioned it here of late - somebody better pay the fock attention to what's happened to this "vaunted" offensive line. In case nobody has noticed, the Great Wall 2.0 sucks! Tyron has damn near completely lost it. He's getting beat left & right, 2 holding calls a game - he's terrible all of the sudden... Connor Wiliams, who da fuq stood up in the room and said we needed to draft that clown in the 2nd??? That kid has the strength of a punter. In fact, I'm not sure he could block a punter - he'd prolly run his ass over too...... L. Collins? You've been spare since you moved out to RT. Between you're holding calls and getting beat - you might as well wear Chaz Green's old uniform... That 1st Jerry just gave away - I would have much rather fired that on a LT next year... I know everyone loves Tyron - but he's a major concern right now. That problem needs to be addressed sooner than later. I don't care if he is singed thru 2023. After this year you can cut him for $10m, year after that for $5m. Outside of Zack, our 2nd best lineman this year? Joe Looney - the back up playing for Fredrick. vuduchile 1,941 Posted October 24, 2018 A #1 WR was a missing component, but it was only one of many. Unfortunately, Dak will struggle to get Cooper the ball, so this trade probably wont have much impact. 2 years ago, I was excited about their prospects as they looked like they were on the rise. Now, they look like an 8-8 team with a coach who regularly makes bad decisions. They could win this division since its so weak. But its hard to get hyped about that since they arent a true contender. Isn't this the same ownership that gave up two 1st rounders for Joey Galloway after the 99 season? A blind man could see that was a mediocre team that wasn't a player away from breaking through. Irvin's retirement forced Jerry to panic for a wide receiver and it looks like cutting Dez has done much of the same.

The Cowboys gave up first- and third-round draft picks to acquire receiver Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions before the 2008 trade deadline. The Cowboys later signed him to a $54 million contract extension. Fool me once...... Fool me twice...... Fool me three times.....

You trade away #1s for QBs, unstoppable pass rushers, shut down corners, extra picks....... you NEVER trade away #1s for WRs - ever.

titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted October 25, 2018 Honestly, the Cowboys have the look of a team that is going to be mired in the wasteland of mediocrity for the foreseeable future. Good enough to never get good draft picks. Bad enough to never really contend. Dak is not a great qb. He is not terrible either. He is mediocre. With everything else around him, he could get it done. But that isnt the case, and will only get harder to assemble As the cowboys have to find ways to pay dak, zeke, and now cooper. From a draft capital standpoint, the cooper trade makes some sense. He is likely better than any receiver that will be available to them in the middle of the first round, where their pick will likely be. From a cap standpoint, its not good. Hes gonna wanna get paid soon. That will affect their ability to build a team.

Cruzer 1,993 Posted October 29, 2018 Doesnt look good for a head coach to be flying across the country to attend WS games when the team is sitting at 3-4 with lots of problems. Just another bad decision by Garrett. Especially when (just a few days before)....................... your Owner/GM just dealt next year's #1 to get you a star WR. In the grand scheme is it a big deal? No, certainly not. Hell Jimmy used to sneak out for mini fishing trips..... But Jimmy had skins on the Wall - Garrett's got nothing but a bag of diicks... You'd think the arrival of a player who, was brought in to save the season (and your job) - would be worth putting in a little extra work.
