Pimpadeaux 2,403 Posted February 27, 2023 Saw Springsteen a couple of weeks ago. Focker puts on a great show. Learned something interesting about thickets, though. For the Houston and Dallas shows at least, VividSeats and other sellers slashed their prices the day of the shows. I guess they bought up more than they could sell. I don't get the whole MAGA hating on Springsteen. Sure, he's politically outspoken, but he never said one political thing during the five concerts of his I've attended. Did he put out a mean Trump tweet that hurt your feelings? I don't give a rat's ass about musicians' politics, unless they shove it down people's throats during a show. I will say that they've gotten better with age. The songs and compositions are just better now. This is from the "Wasteland" album they were touring for back in 2019. About post-nuclear war. Very light and happy subject matter. The most surprising thing when we saw them live is that the riff in the beginning is actually the bassist rather than guitarist. He's strumming his bass for that portion of the song vs the usual finger picking. Edit: this live video shows what I was trying to describe regarding the bass riff. Thankfully her appendectomy went fine but I won't be able to ditch her to go to a show. What's the saying? "Man makes plans and God laughs"? I am looking at their remaining tour dates so I'll hopefully fly and catch them in another city.
