My regular commute VS Corona commute

I usually drive to Queens and take subway to work. 1.50 hours each way. 
Now I drive directly in. No tolls. No parking fee - 40 mins each way. Loving it.

35 minutes down to about 20 seconds to walk down the stairs.

Morning, no real diff. 15-20. But no bad days under corona. The occasional 30 minutes normally.

Home 15-20 again. Usually 30-35.

I was going to the office periodically during this and my commute went from 45-50 minutes to 25 minutes.  Loved that part.  Now, I walk about 20 feet.

3 lanes of interstate through town at rates above 75 now vs 3 lanes at 25 hitting the brakes 3 weeks ago.  Gas under $1.50.  Brings back the love for driving.

That’s a typical Long Island to NYC commute.

~1hr morning rush hour commute is down to 35min. 
50min commute home is also 35min. 
 

I equate the traffic volume to what you’d see during a snow event.
