Social media is poison. Literally. It functions just like a drug.

People think they are rational and have thought out opinions. But that's not true. They are all little lab rats that will say whatever they have to to get that like. That sweet sweet burst of endorphins and approval.

At first, you could just say something normal and other normal people would like your post. But now? It's all become more and more of an echo chamber. Everyone has to compete to be the best virtue signaler to get that sweek approval.

Reddit, which I use, is a freaking cesspit. I quit or was banned from any subreddit relating to politics long ago. At this point, even things like r/nfl and r/sports are completely unbearable. I'm basically only there for books subs and recommendations now. 

The world would be a better place instantly if all social media went away.

I think the current day type of social media is a really bad thing in today's society. This is the only place I post anything to the public, but it's because it's a small group of folks exchanging whatever.

The idea I find unsettling is where a 13 year old might keep watching the Youtube clip of where he hurled a molotov cocktail at a vehicle during the demonstrations. "Oooooh, baby ! up to 6.5 miliion views !!"

It's unfortunate in this modern era where phones can be used as tools to both coordinate and celebrate violence.
