Did my fantasy football draft

Recommended Posts

No keepers

I try to hit homers so I took chances on jamarr chase. Etienne. Damien harris. Elijah moore.  I was shocked burrow fell that far.  If he's healthy he is an mvp candidate.  Also surprised the pats defense fell that much.  Yahoo gave me a d+ grade but it always hates my teams and then every weekly report is about how I exceeded expectaters.

1.05 the derrick henry

2. Rb najee harris

3. Wr justin jefferson

4. Wr Mike evans

5. Wr jamarr chase

6. Rb travis etienne

7. Qb ****justin herbert*****

8. Rb damien harris

9. Te tyler higbee

10. Indy d

11. Kr jason sanders (mia)

12. Wr Mike williams

13. Rb melvin gordon

14. Wr antonio brown

15. Wr elijah moore

16. Qb joe burrow

17. Patriots defense

18-20 junk

Taking a kicker in rd 11 is not good.

Picks 2-4 are very solid.

Solid team if that's a 12 teamer. Pretty good even if 10 teamer. How did Burrow drop to the 16th?

the game has cycled back around to where RB/RB is back on top

there are some extreme studs in rounds 3-5 at WR

there isn't a RB 1 type available in the 3rd, however there are at least 3-4 WR1 potentials

Exactly. I did zero rb way back in 2008. Braylon Edwards, Julio and Calvin. You can’t really do it anymore. You can’t get three top notch ones now . Just two. We are back to having to get a top rb. Too many committees now, the bell cows are few. Thinking things stay the same is a recipe to lose.  But Cruzer won’t say what position you should take.

Yah I think Henry and Harris should be bellcows so I feel good about them.

Nice, I probably would’ve passed on Evans where you took him but hard to find much fault.

You got the first back to back rushing champ in almost 15 years coming off a 2k season at 5?

Clearly you have four retards in your league.

Mccaffrey, Cook, Kamara. I’m sure and then I’d go out on a limb and go with Jones

its not that out of the normal. Those are the top 5 and Henry is in the 4 slot. Maybe someone thinks he’s bound to fall off after so much work the last 3 years it’s not that hard to believe

Clearly I'm biased, and sure, in a PPR those others have great value. But Mccaffrey is coming of an injury and seems to stay hurt a lot.

Henry has pretty much never missed time, and is just a freak of nature. And with the backup hurt again, there isnt anyone who will vulture him at the goalline.

Mccaffrey only missed games last year. He’s an absolute no brainer. Fwiw his projection puts him 60-80 pts higher than cook whose at no 2

Mccaffrey for example is about a lock for 2000 yards total as is Henry. And both should be in the 15-18 td range. Now when you add 100 catches to 30 for Henry. It’s a huge margin. Cook lands right in between them as well and should have 65 or so receptions

Looks great all the way down.   Love Henry at 1.5 and Harris at 2.7.

I do not like Chase in the 5th at all. Herbert was extreme value. You basically don't have a right end. I see waiver wire tight ends in your future. Still solid overall.

everett left tyhe rams and went to seattle.  higbee is the only te on the rams now basically.  when everett was hurt, higbee put up big numbers.

That changes things. Way too early on k and defense unless you have some crazy scoring that for some dumb reason rewards it. Would like to see a better TE in an 8 team draft, but I can’t argue with the eight picks before you went TE. I’d say a little early on Chase.

in the 14 team league, we have 2 keepers but only 1 keeper can be an rb.  its rb rb wr wr plus wr/te/rb slot.  .25 ppr.  my roster there is: kyler murray, matt stafford, joe burrow, ezkiel elliott, myles gaskin, calvin ridley, tee higgins, diontae johnson, michael pittman jr, travis kelce.

kelce will be one keeper.  other will be elliott or ridley.  doing some mock drafts, my first pick is likely to be damien harris no matter what because the patriots are currently built to run the ball a billion times per game.  if i dont protect elliott, harris is my rb1 and i wont have an rb2. if i protect elliott and ridley, then my draft likely falls: harris, higgins, javonte williams, then picking burrow much later while filling up with rbs and wrs.

i do not have an 8th round pick.

i go for home runs.  i could have had a safer pick there insetad of chase, but chase legitimately could explode.

I don’t think there’s a need to push it in an 8 team draft. I do a ten and a 12 team draft, long term leagues.  I feel there is a big difference in approach for the two. I go upside faster in the 12, let it come to me in the 10. It will get to you, especially in an 8.

i think defense is severely underrated.  ive won many games simply because i had an elite defense and scored a ton of points there.  last year i even had 2 elite defenses and traded 1 for ceedee lamb.  i have no problem taking them early.  the colts have 2 stud pass rushers in buckner and leonard which is transformational.  and the pats are loaded on defense.

A good defense can help a lot but rarely are they worth a higher pick.  Great defenses come from later picks every year.  Some teams are more consistent than others, like the Patriots, and they can be had a few rounds later.

Disagree. They are ALWAYS worth a higher pick.  You can find sleeper wrs and rbs all over the place.  But you almost never find sleeper defenses.  I think i got lucky getting the pats d tho.

truth be told, you should always skimp on wrs.  Nice ones can be found in the free agent pile after the season begins.

In 2021, there are only 3 good defenses.  The rams, colts and pats. I got 2 of them.  If you dont get one, you are screwed unless you get lucky.  Im probably going to trade one for a nice player later.

Are other people drafting their defenses as early as you?  How early did the Rams and Steelers go in last year's draft?

I don’t know how an 8 team draft can help prepare you for a 14 team draft. It’s two different animals.

I've never done an 8 man draft but, that seems like way too much reaching for 8 teams.

An 8 team draft with 20 rounds too.  Hard to compare the two when preparing.

I’ve done an 8 team before but honestly 10 is the best to me. Ours now is 10. We determine draft order by picking names but instead of first name picked being 1st pick we choose the 12 spot and work our way down. The last name gets pick 1. Got it this year for the first time

Unless it’s best ball? And drafting this early? No thanks.
