JustinCharge 2,397 Posted October 16, 2022 as i said before, the guardians are not the most talented team, but they are basically completely healthy. and that matters a LOT. everyone is in their assigned roles. the yankees have injuries which forces them to put players in uncomfortable spots. i think the guardians made a huge mistake not trading for some veterans at the deadline because you might go 25 years and never be this healthy. the window for them is now. they might have more takent 2 years from now, but they will probably have 2-3 key injured players too. edjr 5,734 Posted October 16, 2022 Nothing better than watching the Dodgers lose and add on the spankees blowing a lead to blow the game and are 1 game away from being knocked out. still, the playoffs are being ruined by the cheating astros cheating their way to another ALCS

I would still say that Showalter has the edge taking a 77-win season and turning the Mets into a 101-win team... The only other option, I would think, would be Dave Roberts because of the Dodgers winning 111 games...

JustinCharge 2,397 Posted October 17, 2022 Since 1995, the Indians / Guardians have won 8 playoff series. Only one of them was won at home: the 1997 ALDS vs the Yankees. The other 7 were all won on the road. Game 5 Guardians vs Yankees today is on the road.
JustinCharge 2,397 Posted October 17, 2022 since 1995, the Indians / Guardians most frequent playoff opponent is the Yankees. They have met 6x (1997, 1998, 2007, 2017, 2020, 2022). the yankees lead this series 3-2. The next most frequent opponent are the Red Sox (5x) since 1995, the Yankees most frequent playoff opponent is .... the Indians / Guardians. But that is tied with the Twins, also 6x (03,04,09,10,17,19) The Yankees lead that series 5-1.

So I wouldn’t say he’s a choker.
