Makes a huge difference when being raised how to responsibly handle guns and being around others who also are responsible with guns.  Most of us even took hunter safety courses when we were kids.

I'd be interested in WHY they are increasing. 

2nd Amendment has been around for 200 years...why are we all of a sudden shooting up parades and schools - and they are usually younger males.

My theory?  Social Media and easy access.  In most states, it's too easy to get guns and ammo.  What we've seen this year are young males who feel justified from being online.  The divide in this country gets worse and worse.

I agree with this. 

Years ago, if you disagreed with someone politically you might think that person is naive, misguided or wrong. Today they’re deliberately evil or an enemy of the state. I’ve never seen a time when Americans seem to hate each other to this degree.

I think there’s something to the Internet playing a role too. We’re only around 20 years into it the net being in every home and the first generation that’s come to adulthood having lived a large % of their lives lives online. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that many of these shooters are young men.

Sadly I think the new normal is mass shootings becoming increasingly common.
