They gained more subscribers than they lost.  They still had a net gain.  I don't care if they crash and burn for being woke but I'm not going to pretend something is happening when all the data shows they are not.

Every subscription service loses customers every month.  Some months are much worse than others.  Most times it happens right after a price increase.

It's funny, they use the word "added" then they use the word "more" in the article. 

So I guess they are basically saying they have 7 million more subscriptions. 

87 million world wide minus 50 million Disney plus....

There are a few different Disney Plus packages.

It basically all comes down to this, as of Q2 the whole woke thing has not hurt them too badly.  Not as badly as HT makes it seem like.  We'll know even more after their Q3 report.  If the Q3 report shows they took a drastic hit from going woke then I will admit I was wrong.

I bet the theme park is hurting more at first than watching shows on tv. I try to put myself in the scenario of planning a vacation there. First off that place is focking expensive. If you start adding on a woke element to it, no chance am I going there. And I have been to the different parks before and enjoyed myself, but, no thanks with all the woke bullshlt. I won't go back.

My girlfriend subscribes to the Disney Channel and we watch the Star Wars spin off stuff on that but that is about it. I bet the Star Wars is what is driving subscriptions. But I'm seriously pissed they got rid of Carano on Mandalorian. I wouldn't mind cancelling but it's not my subscription.

I love the Star Wars and Marvel content.  The rest is just a bonus.  I hated that they got rid of Carano too.  It was stupid but I'm not going to stop watching a great show or cancel my subscription because of it.

But I think they are doing a series on the chick Ahsoka first. Not completely sure.

Hmmm. I read that their record was set in 2018. And seeing as Disneyland doesn’t give daily attendance numbers, I have to question that claim, seeing as the year isn’t even half way over yet.  They have set revenue records though.

Their Q2 earnings showed that their parks actually outperformed their expectations.  Their parks did very well and they gained subscribers to Disney Plus.  Anything other than this is just speculation until they come out with some new reports or their Q3 earnings.

From the link hawk provided, Disney plus isn't in great shape.

Despite this, Disney Plus is actually losing the company money at a greater clip than it was before. Disney says this is thanks to higher costs for production, advertising, and technology. Those costs seem unlikely to go down, and raising prices, like Netflix did, could cut off its subscriber growth. All that put together makes it obvious why Disney is looking at creating an ad-supported tier sooner rather than later.

ALso, part of the"added" portion comes from Hulu subscribers. I have Hulu and we got Disney plus for free a few months ago with the Hulu subscription, along with ESPN plus. Disney Plus is hemorrhaging $$, just an FYI.
