Did anybody see the Rams game where the late in the 4th, the Rams forced 4th down and the guy coming was blocked backwards into the punter and stumbling backwards, knocked him down with his ass? 

I'd thought that was total bullsh*t but I wasn't an impartial observer as I wanted the Rams to win. I've not seen a lot of football, being overseas for 21 years, so I was hopping mad. There was zero intention there. Are they in the habit of calling "roughing the kicker" any time the kicker gets touched?

The Rams played valiantly with what's left of their squad and were easily the better team on Sunday. Unfortunately, they got hosed and wrapped up in circumstantial karma which extended the Lions' officiating curse onto themselves. The Seahawks took advantage of enough opportunities to steal the game.

I didn’t see the game but Lions fans on Reddit are irate about the officiating and saying the NFL is a casino and basically rigged.

If you don't click on my link and just look at the still shot above, you'll see the Seahawk punter has already returned both feet to the ground before Seattle #23 knocks LA #92 backwards ass-first into him. That's halfway through the 4th quarter and this roughing the kicker call gave Seattle a bullsh*t fresh set of downs which they used to get far enough downfield to kick the tying field goal and send the game into overtime.

There's so much wrong with that call IMO. It wasn't the only bad call that Seattle got late.

Just watched the video. The late hit call on Geno out of bounds was correct. The running into the kicker and no call on DK Metcalf were both atrocious.

This has been going on for decades.  It's human nature to create a narrative when we feel wronged and don't want to accept it.  It's much easier to say that the NFL is rigged against us rather than just deal with the reality that people make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes don't go in our favor.

Sure they were bad, but what's the the argument for the game being rigged?  The NFL wanted Seattle in the playoffs instead of either GB or Detroit?  The NFL didn't want the "win and in" game to be played?  The NFL got screwed here with Seattle win, as the ratings will be much less than if it was Detroit.

Nobody says the games were rigged. Seattle who hosed the Rams in the game yesterday were themselves hosed by officiating in the Super Bowl against the Steelers a good 15 years ago or so, in Bettis' last game.

Detroit does seem to always get focked though but maybe I'm biased.

2. the only player to not log practice work yesterday was WR Mike Williams (back).  He is considered day-to-day.  Everyone else on the injury report was a full participant wednesday.
3. its expected to be cool for the Saturday 8:30PM kickoff, with a high of 55 and a low of 37.
4. The Chargers will be 2 point road favorites, and a win likely sends them to the Chiefs.
5. The Chargers went 1-5 in the regular season vs playoff teams.  The Jaguars went 3-3.  These teams met in week 3 with the Jaguars winning 38-10. The leading rushers were RBs Sony Michael and James Robinson, neither of which are on the rosters of these teams now.  That week 3 matchup was the first game Herbert played after breaking his ribs.

Video game publisher EA Sports will remove a touchdown celebration from "Madden NFL 23" that showed players giving each other CPR in the wake of Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin's cardiac arrest in Week 17. The celebration existed in the game already, but EA Sports said it will release a software update soon to eliminate it from the most recent version of the popular video game.

"EA Sports is taking steps to remove the celebration from Madden NFL 23 via an update in the coming days," an EA Sports spokesperson told CBS Sports.

CPR was administered to Hamlin when he collapsed on the field during the Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals on Jan. 2. Hamlin was transported from the field by ambulance to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he stayed until he was released a week later. He returned to Buffalo and continued to undergo testing at Buffalo General Medical Center until he was discharged Wednesday morning.

Following Hamlin's hospitalization, some fans on Twitter called for EA to remove the celebration. NFL players will likely stop using the celebration on the field as well, although Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Alex Highsmith and defensive end DeMarvin Leal celebrated a sack of Cleveland Browns quarterback with a CPR celebration in Week 18. Highsmith later claimed his celebration was not related to Hamlin.

Hamlin's recovery is remarkable but shed light on a more pressing issue in the NFL revolving around player safety and compensation. The Bills agreed to pay Hamlin's full contract amount after placing him on injured reserve despite a clause in his deal that would have cut his wages if he landed on the injury list. It was a move heralded and vilified considering the countless other players who also suffered devastating, but not life-threatening, injuries that cost them games, years and possibly careers.

For now, though, "Madden" users won't be reminded of one of the scariest on-field moments in NFL history when they play the game.

There has been a saying going around that "The Chargers are gonna Charger".  Its a mocking saying that you expect the Chargers to screw up.  But in reality, it seems to have made the Chargers a great team to bet on.  The Chargers went 7-2 ATS on the road this year and 11-5-1 overall ATS.

Lamar Jackson is a punk.  Didn't bother traveling with team.  He had a PCL sprain.  Another example of why running QBs over overvalued.   Any QB that could actually throw from the pocket would put a brace on and play.  But without healthy wheels a guy like Lamar is obsolete.
