Warnock took him way too lightly like it would be an easy layup. He didn't come in prepared for a challenge and was left on the defensive the whole hour by an aggressive attack. He didn't hit him back when he got hit except for once. He didn't answer the tough questions. Media will focus too much on Walker pulling out the badge on the subject of him pretending to be a cop. If you remove that comedy bit from the night, Walker came off stunningly competent given the total stupidity he has shown in his campaign and speeches before tonight. Warnock didn't help himself. I doubt he picked up new voters on the fence with that effort. I hope he can pull this out next month.

Competent? I don’t even think he passed the much lower bar of coherent. He clearly didn’t even understand some of the questions. He got confused about government health care. He thinks diabetes patients don’t need insulin if they just have a healthy diet. He tried to repeat an abortion talking point that was different from his most recent statements but didn’t quite get it. He got softballs from the male moderator, but still came across as the village idiot.

Seriously, raise your standards, Republicans.

I think after tonight Walker is gonna win this thing. Plus a story is breaking on Warnocks corrupt charity. It’s not even registered. Ooof.  Bad timing for that to come out considering all the scrutiny and backlash BLM is under right now.

From All accounts, Walker did a great job in the debate. I'm sorry this happened to you.

From all accounts? That’s plainly false. There are many accounts that say he embarrassed himself.

I take it as a good sign that the NYTimes columnists are sh*tting their pants.

Charles Blowhard throws a fun-to-read tantrum over Walker kicking Warnock's ass:  https://archive.ph/qkkYI

Frank Bruni concurs, but with more composure: https://archive.ph/45zwa

You certainly have an interesting view of “kicking ass."

Let’s face it, the Republicans set the expectations so low for the debate that a rotting tomato would have met them.

Walker is a complete moron, who vomited out a small handful of talking points his staff drilled into his head for hours, and still got things wrong. From the linked article:

Quote

That’s not what’s happening with Walker. With him, there is a base inability to convey his ideas in complete thoughts or sentences. And like a child, when his words fail, he fills in the gaps with energy and emotion, hostility and humor.

This cheap rhetorical trick works for Republicans. They want the fighter more than the philosopher, the class jock over the class president. As long as the candidate is on their side, it doesn’t matter if he’s up to par, because at the end of the day, they are voting for the power over the person.

They will elect a man without command of the English language or the issues if it gives them command of the seat and the Senate. Walker’s debate performance was just designed to allay their fears, to make them think better about doing the unthinkable.

This is the best the GOP can offer? Somebody with an IQ in the 70s? You should be ashamed but are celebrating instead. Well congratulations. You’ve created a party of people so stupid that they would vote for the king of the imbeciles, Herschel Walker.

Walker's debate stage badge was an honorary badge given to him by the the sheriff of Johnson County who has no issue that it was used in the debate. Walker claims he has honorary badges from all over Georgia including Chatham County , where Warnock is from. He used the badge to highlight his close ties to law enforcement, by way of contrasting himself with the criminal coddling Warnock.

I didn't see the debate, I just took Charles Blow's word for it.

Walker isn't the best the GOP can offer, this whole thread is full of people critical of him. He's just tehre because he's a famous football player whose celebrity carried the day. In the end, he's still better that 99% of what the Dems offer and a better debater that Rafael Warnock.

But yes, I will celebrate if Walker wins. Absolutely. the Dems must be held accountable and driven from office.

Seriously, for all of Walker's verbal limitations, after dispatching Warnock, taking out Captain Poopypants on a debate floor should be a breeze.

Would anyone care about Walker’s opinion on abortion and whether or not he paid for one if Roe v Wade hadn’t been overturned?  Would be kinda funny if he lost and that makes a big difference nationally, because I think he probably wins if not for Roe v Wade being overturned

I don't care about abortion in general. Those who kill their kids will meet their maker one day. Plus, I don't want those people to be parents anyway.

I hope Walker wins because we don't need another dumbocrat in office.

You ask a question. I answer it and you try to shift the discussion to something else. There are a lot of people in jail in PA for marijuana stuff. Fetterman did not say that. What he did say was:

That is far more nuanced than what is being said about him.

What are Oz's qualifications? What did he run? What do you know of his specific positions? And you aren't in PA so why do you give a damn about him other than you want "Republicans to control the Senate"?

Let's not act like daytime talk show host is a big job.

Here’s Mooney basically telling me to butt out because I don’t live in PA. Gonna do the “I didn’t say that” thing again?

Again you change it into something I didn't say. I didn't tell you to "butt out. I asked:

You never answered the question. And discussing what I did about armed people at polling places was not commenting on Arizona politics or candidates. It was commenting on people trying to intimidate at the ballot box.

I know you are dumb and don't see the difference so HTH.

The debate between Democratic Lt. Gov. John Fetterman and Republican celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz starts at 8 p.m. ET and airs live across the state. WHTM, an ABC affiliate in Harrisburg, hosts. Inflation, crime and abortion are likely to be major topics of discussion. Both campaigns agreed to a closed captioning accommodation to allow Fetterman, who is recovering from a stroke, to read questions and answers spoken and transcribed instantly. The close contest could decide control of the Senate.

This debate and contest is a referendum on the liberal IQ. Will they continue to be fooled by a mentally handicapped person talking from a teleprompter.
