But a deeper dig I think reveals something more interesting. He may have been right by accident. He did influence the Fed, they did have to reverse course on interest rates and they did have to reverse on the balance sheet. Trump was not wrong on both of those issues, but how he got there might’ve been wrong. But the Fed’s policy reversal was also a paradigm shift. Their perceptions about the relationship between unemployment and inflation had changed and with it their perception about interest rates. It vindicated some of Trump’s positions. The Fed spent much of 2018 operating under the assumption that Trump’s tax cuts and a plunging unemployment rate would soon kick the economy into high gear, creating inflation. And until about five years ago, policymakers assumed that unemployment couldn’t get much lower than 5 percent, they were watchful of an overheating economy, but it never happened. The secret? Growth. Trump loves business and growth. And while I doubt he fully understood that growth equated to an effective control of consumption because growth was matching it. Because of that factor inflation was "controlled" it existed and only when growth subsided would there be an inflationary period, but the Fed was built to see and handle this kind of inflation. Very interesting. I'll need to think and digest this but very interesting.

Much appreciated, Not the subject really, but since we're talking about it, what are your thoughts on a soft landing from the Fed? Initially I thought it was unlikely and we'd have a fairly serious recession before inflation really got under control. However, the most recent CPI combined with the stubbornly good job market leads me to think now that we'll continue to see inflation fall slowly over the next 12 months or so and normalize around 4 or 5 percent. At that point the Fed will need to decide what they're going to do because inflation at 4 or 5 percent with say 5 or 6 percent Fed rate is no bueno.

I could waste time pointing you to unbiased, non-political facts, and you'd still find ways to deflect and deny them, either dismissing the source or just saying "And it's Biden's fault" without backing that up with facts. Voters made a statement Tuesday about MAGAtards like you, but you can't comprehend that when you view the world through MAGAtard lenses. Biden's release of oil from the strategic reserve combined with a Federal Trade Commission crackdown on gas-price manipulation caused gas prices to go down. Oil as of Friday was around $89 a barrel. Biden announced another monster strategic-reserve release in December and wants oil down to around $70 a barrel, but $80 is the sweet spot for consumers and the oil industry. Of course, you selfishly would prefer to pay less in your blue state and have those hard-working, God-fearing, Republican-voting boys in the oil patch out of work, like they were when oil was down to $23 a barrel. Raven Fan 362 Posted November 12, 2022 Back on topic. This was a historically bad showing for Republicans during challenging economic times and with an unpopular president that should have led to a massive red wave. Instead Republicans will be lucky to eek out a small majority in the house. If Republicans continue down this path in 24 with a recovered economy and someone not named Biden running, they're getting wiped out.

My wife in the past hasn't been able to process why I like hard rock, metal and punk. A couple of years ago, I stumbled across this Australia band called Amyl and the Sniffers and wore out their first full-length album They released their second album last year, and it's great as well. They're a blend of hard rock, punk and old-fashioned riff rock. They make it sound fresh. I couldn't wait to see them live, and I got my wish earlier this year, seeing them at a backyard venue in Austin. I even got to meet the singer, this crazy blonde chick with a mullet and buck teeth. My wife went with an open mind, and we stood on the edge of the pit the whole time. She totally got it, which opened her up to giving Metallica a whirl. We've been listening to the albums one by one on long trips, starting with the first album, and she gets them as well. We just listened to the black album yesterday. Her favorite so far is "And Justice for All."
