Sanctuary cities complain about ‘onslaught’ of illegal migrants

One of Trumps bigger blunders was giving in to this “separating families” BS.

prove it.  dont just assert.  prove.  and i know you cant.  so you are a troll.

just like all liberals, you falsely claim you want a dialogue, but you really just want to assert things and silence those you disagree with personal attacks and guilt trips.

you are not to be taken seriously.

Sure.

It wasn’t BS.
Why are you so against these people? The vast majority of them are hardworking and honest and mean you no harm whatsoever. They came here illegally because there was no other path for them. Now they want to be Americans, free like the rest of us. They are an economic benefit to us and there’s plenty of room for them. Why the hostility?

I’m not avians them as much as I am the politicians and businesses that benefit from them at my expense. I have a lawn mower and can’t afford a maid. And the separation of families thing was complete BS. All it did was bring more and help child traffickers. Think anyone is is going to bring little kids on that trek if they are going to be separated. And spare me your nauseous virtue signaling. Try and make your point without it.

thats not proof.  you SPECIFICALLY said that the illegals strengthen us.  the title of that article is that they "bring benefits".  thats NOT the same thing.  cigarettes have benefits but they ultimately kill you.

i mean look at this shiit argument.  illegal immigration has been a problem for decades, and this clown can't even distinguish between strengthening and benefitting.  you need to forever shut your mouth on this topic.  you havent done one day of study on it.

Illegals don’t strengthen us. Legals have, and some do now. Most of them just take. Comparing immigrants coming to a barely built country to now is silly.

See again this is false information. Some cities offer drivers licenses (which only makes sense), and the rest, others don’t. The only thing that so-called sanctuary cities have in common is that they won’t cooperate with the ICE. And that’s also a great thing. Do you really want to turn your local police into Gestapo agents? I don’t.

I’m going to repeat what I wrote in the other thread: there are over 11-15 million illegal immigrants in this country. I know most of you don’t like that. But they’re here and they’re NOT GOING ANYWHERE. And there’s more coming and we can’t really stop them. None of your solutions will stop them. It can’t be done.

So now what?

Gestapo agents for following federal law? Wow. I would like our law enforcement agencies to enforce the laws of the land. You're from California right? Does California offer everything I listed? I know New York offers most of it. You are correct about 1 thing. I'm sure not ever sanctuary state offer the same things.

As far as the dreamers. I'm ok with offering citizenship with concessions from the left on boarder security and all other illegal immigrants here.

Hey listen I don’t doubt your sincerity on this issue. I think you mean well, and I believe that of most of those who have been posting in here. I simply think your ideas are not only wrong but unrealistic.

About as wrong and unrealistic as letting everyone in without a limit or laws.

You guys look so foolish every time you post stuff like this.   It should instantly tell everybody you aren't serious about the conversation.   Never once have we done this.  Even as terribly as Joe has handled this, there are tons of people being stopped and sent back.

You satisfied now that Ol' Joe has set a limit?

Tim has said we should take anyone that comes here legal or illegal. He's made the comments that America isn't close to full and we have plenty of room/resources for them or something like that. That was directed at Tim, not the entire Democratic base.

Nothing against 'these people'

I am against bringing in 'more' poor non-English-speaking people @ a time when 57% of U.S. households paid no federal income tax (2021) and 19% paid neither payroll or federal income taxes. Yes, those figures were influenced by Covid-relief funds, tax credits & stimulus, which have since ended, but they were already hovering around 50% 'before' corona came along.

A majority may be hard-working, but they'll still cost us dearly. Illegal aliens can't participate in the ACA (Obamacare Marketplace) & rightfully so. So they'll go to emergency rooms for much of their healthcare, & we pay for that.

It took 204 years for our nation to reach 1 trillion in debt for the first time (1980) but only another 42 years to multiply that x 30. How long is that sustainable? If it compounds at the same rate over the next 42 years, it would be around 900 trillion by 2064.

Maybe debt will never matter ? Some people believe in something called modern monetary theory (MMT) the gist of which is this.

Anything that is technically feasible is financially affordable. Because a government that creates its own currency can borrow in that currency & then pay off the resulting debt by creating more of it.

AOC, Bernie Sanders, & Elizabeth Warren are proponents of MMT.

That should scare the hell out of any rational person.

I really appreciate the thoughtful response. I don’t know what the MMT (which I also think is BS) has to do with the immigration issue. Debt is a whole other topic- I don’t believe these folks make it worse, just the opposite.

So much false with the OP. We will never solve this issue so long as people believe these lies:

Biden never invited any illegal immigrants into this country. They’re being shipped to blue states and cities by Republicans as a political stunt, nothing more, and one that is inhumane. We need a national solution to this issue.

Every city should be a sanctuary city.

Should be no sanctuary cities, immigrants should follow our laws and enter our country legally.

Guys,

You have to understand a few things about Tim here, assuming it's really him:

1)  He runs his father or father in laws commercial real estate business.  That means he was just handed a career.  Much like the politicians he doesn't really understand what hard work means to get ahead in life.

2)  Tim likes to hire illegals under the table.  So, he benefits from them being here.  He bragged about this repeatedly at FBG's.

3)  I have not proven it beyond doubt but he got really defensive at FBG's when I suggested that maybe his wife was an illegal.  Defensive in the way people get when you just nailed them.  So take that for what it's worth.

I mentioned debt because we're one of those countries that creates its own, borrows in it, & then creates more of it to pay it off. Illegal aliens add to it.

PolitiFact January 2022

Some claim illegals cost the US 155 billion a year, others say they have no way of proving that. The best answer I saw, was about halfway down the page.

"The numbers are large, but remember it is over a lifetime," he said.

When asked what immigrants in the country illegally cost each year, on average, Camarota said "a back of the envelope estimate" based on his lifetime cost analysis would fall somewhere between about $24 billion and $48 billion annually, depending on the methodology used.

We've become desensitized to numbers, but even if you split the difference and say it's 36 billion a year, that's a lot of money.

https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2022/jan/26/facebook-posts/theres-no-evidence-americans-pay-155-billion-each-/

US debt is something I've been researching for years. I look at it as one of those 'everything is fine until it isn't' issues. The US has been very irresponsible with spending over the past 40+ years. The worst of it is that the 'real debt figure' (once you add the unfunded liabilities from Social Security and Medicare) is at least 100 trillion, not the 32 trillion figure throw around by politicians. The Social Security trust fund that politicians (mostly democrats) talk about, is nothing more than IOUs in a file cabinet. IOW when you have a month where the proceeds coming in from SS aren't enough to cover the outflow, the US treasury has to issue more debt.

Instead of me trying to explain it, look at this pamphlet that was included in my 401(k) statement back in 2006. Apologies for the poor scan. Pay special attention to the date when the IOU notes were expected to run out. (2040) more recent reports have moved that down by 6 years (2034)

One of the least surprising things I read today. You have to be someone that had it handed to you to think like he does. He feels guilty. The boomers had it so good their offspring never had to sweat anything. And now they want to pull the ladder up on everyone  else.

I had been meaning to post that in my brief time at FBG last year I learned that Tim manages commercial real estate and uses illegals to move furniture around.  IIRC it was between parking lots, like someone would complain and they just transfer it to another lot.

But perhaps Tim can clarify.

It's not him. Assuming the real Tim changed his stance on fentanyl and that open borders are a problem at all he would have spent hours explaining this:

Not a peep from Fake Tim because he is a fraud.

Sure. First off I wasn’t handed anything from my dad or anyone else. I worked from the ground up. I have had good fortune in my life but I’ve also worked very hard. I’m a huge believer in capitalism.
Second my wife was born in Canoga Park. But if she had been illegal, I wouldn’t have been ashamed of it. My grandparents were illegal, sneaking over the Russian border in Vienna to escape the Communists. Very proud of that too.

I hire migrant workers to perform menial tasks on the properties I manage. They may be illegal, some of them. I have no idea and I don’t really care. I pay them well in cash.

Of course. Illegals are cheap, you don't have to give them medical, or treat them like humans in the work place, or afford them rights in the workplace, etc.

Liberals are the most hypocritical scumbags you ever come across.

Real estate concerns and the banks love illegals. They make a lot of money off of them.

I grew up in woodland hills just west of Canoga Park.  Canoga Park has a huge contingent of illegals and/or descendants of illegals.  It's funny cuz over at football guys you tried to pretend she came from Nebraska or something.  So maybe you're not the same guy.  but being from Canoga Park just pretty much confirms my suspicion.  So you didn't help your case here.
