By curse of the running quarterback I think you mean curse of the black quarterback. If that had been Josh Allen playing for Philly I doubt you make the same comments.

Always about race

I said they have good games every so often to fool people like you into thinking they are good at being a QB.

So you would say this was a good games for Hurts?  But you also said it's the curse of the running QB.  So which is it?  Was he good or did the Eagles lose because he's a running QB?

Stay down.  You're getting beat like a red-headed stepchild in here - like you do in other threads.

I have nothing against the Eagles.  But I would rather not root for the disgusting city that is Philadelphia.  Didn't really want to see the chiefs win eirther.  Was sort of a lose lose.  Good game though.

This is how you know when he's lost.  Refuses to answer questions, admit he was wrong, and declares victory.

Actually, anyone arguing with you is already a winner because you're so f'n dumb that even a caveman could win a one on one debate with you.

I have made a lot of stupid bets this year but, Chiefs getting points and the over seemed to good to be true. I parlayed it and made some decent change. Wish I would have had the balls to bet more than I did.

Mahomes getting points. Unreal, it never made sense.

Same here.  I also took some ml, and then I hammered the chiefs ml at +300 right after mahomes was warming up after halftime.

I am sure when they were down 10 at half you had a different outlook.

Most amazing part of the game. Philly punted once and lost. Thanks to Trump hands fumble for the scoop and score.

Nah, I did the same thing as Gutter, I put another live bet in at halftime on KC ML. It was a good night, could have been great night though if I had the balls to spend real $$.

I'm biased, but completely agree.

After seeing what happened in the 1st half and seeing Chris Jones' demeanor, I fully expected to see the KC Defense fired up in the 2nd half. I'm surprised they kept that fire & momentum after Philly scored on that long drive. And wow, what can you say about Mahomes that hasn't already been said? We all know that it was amazing that he was able to come back out in the 2nd half, but to make that gutsy run on 3rd down I believe was THE turning point in the game.

Congrats to KC!

The Eagles deserve much respect as well and played a great game. But I have to ask, is Jalen Hurts a Robot? I see NO emotion out of that guy, he looks totally uninterested.

Did I ever say he didn't play great?  I said it's the curse of the Running QB and they WILL have good games now and then.

His stats look good because he called his own number on 90% of the plays.

Your argument is terrible. Not only did he throw for 300 yards but the opposing team won with a mobile QB. Without him they most likely wouldn’t have been in the SB.

Mobile isn't "running".  Basically every QB in the league these days is "mobile".

Exactly.  @Hawkeye21's post is another example of them not being able to see the difference.  Mahomes is a pocket passer who runs to supplement the passing game.  Hurts is a runner that passes to supplement his running game.  Just because a quarterback moves 3 feet to the left or right does NOT make them a "running QB" like Hawkey is asserting.

I find it hard to believe grown men can't see the difference a pocket passer who runs and a running QB who runs.  When your QB has more rushing yards and TDS than the Running backs in every other  game then you know.

Same here, I also made a bunch of dumb bets for fun that didn't cash, but my son hit the gatorade color which was fun.

I am with you on not loving running QBs.  But I think Hurts is much more duel threat than I thought he would be.  He made some great throws ladt night.  That said running QBs can hide their passing ability some because of the defenses they see.  A guy like Lamar will have those 16 for 20 200 yards and 3 TD games.  And everyone will be like SEE hr can pass!  Well when you see single man coverage across the board and never see 2 high then yeah the reads are way easier.  The throws are way easier.

My biggest problem with running QBs is what if they mildly roll an ankle? They become obsolete.   They can still continue in the game but without their full wheels their game is dead.  More sacks because cant get away like they are used to.  Have to drop back anf stay in pocket which they aren't used to.  Have to rrad and breakdown a defense with your head rather than legs.  A guy like Mahomes who likes to scramble, rolls and ankle, he can still play and beat you without a ton of movement.   Rodgers in his prime, same thing, likes to move but could beat you with a 5 step drop and throwing from the pocket.

Hurts played a good game.  It is fair to say they win if he doesnt just drop the ball while scrambling.  Also fair to say that he played a really good game otherwise and showed that he can pass the ball a bit.

You've equivocated my feelings exactly.  There are exceptions to the Running QB rule, but they are exceptions, not the rule.  Most running QBs run because they can't pass to save their life and that becomes so obvious when they can't use their legs anymore.

I just don't get why NFL Teams are so short-sighted on this.  They're paying these guys 40 million dollars a year and you would think they would draft a guy that would protect their investment by being a passing QB first.  Every time they take off running is a major risk of losing that 40 million dollars.  Ultimately, after injury, these guys are never the same again.

Passing QBs - and on a side note isn't it funny that we have to refer to QBs as "Passing QBs" now? - last much longer.

I'm just happy the Eagles lost, and even sweeter that it was 2 former NYG that helped contribute to that loss.  Suck it Eagles.

It's almost as if you relish playing the idiot.  Tell you what? Why don't you head down to the Weenie Hut Jr. forums down the road and let the adults talk in here.  Y'know, the ones who can actually read a post and understand the words, idea, intent and original thought of the poster instead of making up garbage instead of knee-jerking a response?

I know English isn't your first, or second, language but JFC you're stupid.

It must have been hard to pick a rooting interest as a Giants / Chargers fan.

As a (real) Giants fan, all I can say is it’s not going to be fun going against Hurts for years to come. I think he can throw.  It’s Lamar that can’t if we’re talking about the running qb’s.  He’s nothing without his legs. Hurts can play from the pocket. He’s just young right now and the eagles are playing to that running strength. The time will come when they won’t and they will rely on his arm. He’s good.

I would agree with that.   Plus, there isn't as much quality competition at the positing in the NFC as there is in the other conference.

I'm not worried about the future of the Eagles, this team is gonna get leveled, and while Hurts is good, he's not 50M/yr good.  They're gonna overpay him just like Howie overpaid Wentz.  We got a full year of tape on Hurts in this offense and the O-line is gonna take a hit.

Why would a Chargers fan be worried about the Eagles?

Did anyone else think the production of the game felt low-rent? The announcers were fine, but not a combination with a presence and you would recognize.   Graphics felt weird.   And the halftime show was meh.

Hurts has a good 2 to 3 years ahead of him. As Gutter said, he will be overpaid and start to suck and they will be stuck with him. Don't be surprised if he is given a guaranteed contract

I feel similar about Fields.  Not sure he is a great throwing QB and the Bears run him wayyy too much.  He's gonna get hurt eventually.

Fields was a great passer in college.  He's known for this throwing ability and deep ball.  He was not a run first guy at OSU.  He only had to run in the NFL because of the offense around him.

Also, the scheme in OSU does not translate to the NFL.  He's not gonna get those same looks in the NFL.  He needs weapons and he needs to improve as a passer.  No reason to think he can't, Hurts has.

Yes, you both successfully pointed out that I grew up as a Chargers fan.  You get a gold star.

So about that game last night....
