Joe Biden’s State of the Union speech to Congress

Recommended Posts

He'll lie his ass off, take credit for things he didn't do, blame America for the world's ills, lie some more, then finish by lying about the actual state of the union.

Fantastic job numbers. 517K in January.

How is that fantastic? That isn't even keeping pace with illegal immigration, let alone those who deserve jobs.

Yeah. I heard a biden guy on a radio interview and he was boasting about the job numbers. And then he said, "now we just have to get the jobs to pay a livable wage."

And that was a Biden guy.

“Inflation was caused by Covid and made worse by Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.”

That’s the Democrat view. It’s mine as well. The Republican view is that it’s caused by excessive spending and our refusal to drill for fossil fuels.

This is a debate that we won’t settle. But it will be interesting to see how history looks at it.

This is where I have a problem with Biden. He’s too populist for my taste.

Eh it's at least one place where Trump was right in what he was saying and doing. The US should be the clubhouse leader on these things. You can quibble about how he- or Biden- get there but they aren't wrong.

I 100% agree with point #2. 50% disagree with point #1

I will say that so far tonight, Biden is speaking like a real POTUS.  Good for him

I don’t agree. If we get to use the technology and if our companies make money anyhow, who cares where it came from? I’m not into this “it’s better made in America, buy American, etc.” It’s just a sales pitch and it’s meaningless. Trade is international.

What’s going to change? Biden has told his family and friends he’s running again. And he’s not going to dump Harris because nobody has done that in modern times. So I think it’s pretty likely.

Trade is international but it's better to operate from a position of power than not.

Can somebody explain why McCarthy is glowering when Biden talks about lowering the cost of insulin? I get him not applauding partisan things, but that is something almost everybody supports.

I’m pretty sure that there are those in the Republican base who are extremely suspicious of McCarthy and will be upset unless he glowers the whole time. Former President Trump’s position is NO cooperation with Democrats.

Remember all those executive orders Biden signed? Yeah, one of them did away with Trumps reduction of diabetes meds. Or just think McCarthy is a meany.  Up to you.

His "friends" are already setting him up for failure in a possible next run.  Come on man...You see it, right?
The dems that are really in charge behind the scenes don't want anything to do with them in 24.  I don't blame them, either.
The writing is on the wall.

I'm not saying that a Republican will win, but I seriously doubt that Biden will be on the ticket.

Oil Companies say why should we invest in infastructure if you're going to shut oil production down?

Biden - were going to need oil for another decade.
