Exactly.  The right's concern about social influence is warranted.   But like we do with politics - hyperbole kicks in and we get the trope that we will all be lgbtq+ in a few decades.  Wouldn't that require all of them and their kids to fall victim to this indoctrination turn lgbtq?  It's silly - there has to be upper threshold of people who are truly lgbtq.

IMO definition changes are some of the reason we are seeing big rises in lgbtq+ numbers in general overall.  When that banner includes stuff line Pansexual, and that basically includes everybody, it's getting a bit nuts.   But we can be rational - that's not what we are talking about when they claim no end to the rise in numbers.   Maher took it too far too, but he's also a comedian and that's his job.

How about no? Not appropriate for kids. Therefore , they shouldn’t be exposed to it, shitty parents permission or not.

I agree with this; the question is how much to attribute to each factor (acceptance vs. social/confused)?  What Tim calls "anecdotal" from Bill Maher is an actual Gallop poll (which would be "science" if it fit his world view) which shows the number of people who identify on the spectrum as 20% and doubling every generation.  I assert that a lot more of this is confusion than true trans.

I propose one joint bill, maybe call it the Protect the Children or Leave the Kids Alone Act. Bars kids from drag shows AND from being alone in the presence of a priest, youth pastor or other religious authority.

Put it up for a vote - Yes or No fockers?

Do we include teachers, coaches, and all other professions which have higher rates of abuse?  All such professions attract pedos because of the availability of their prey.

Unless it's illegal, we have no right to tell other parents what they can do with their children.  I agree with you that they shouldn't be doing it but it's none of my business.

No, it should be illegal.

It's not though.

That’s changing. And if you don’t want it to be illegal you’re either a pervert yourself or a coward, afraid to speak out against obvious perverted behavior. You’ve been trained well.

If that’s the standard why are we including queens and trans? They generally don’t have available prey or a long history of focking children like priests.

I wasn’t referring to that poll. I have no knowledge of that poll and would have to read up on it, but in general I accept polls as evidence. What I was referring to was anecdotal “testimonies” of kids who had a sex change, regret it, and say they were talked into it. That’s the sort of “evidence” that gets offered a lot and that I won’t accept as proof of anything.

Well…not really. Acceptance of trans is pretty recent and there are many parts of the country that it hasn’t reached. From what I read, I wouldn’t want to be an openly trans person in rural Oklahoma for example. I would quite literally fear for my life.

A vast majority of trans violence is from known partners or during sex work.  Youre chance of facing violence would be extremely low in rural OK.  I know that doesn’t fit your violent redneck angle.  Sorry

I though you said your kid is never around priests in the Catholic school you hypocritically send him to? It’s bullshit, but you said it, so…..

Well, that's what Maher referred to.  I know because I actually watched the episode where he discussed trans and referred to the poll.  Perhaps you should watch it and educate yourself, then come back to discuss it.

No one cared or spoke out about drag queens until they got kids involved. Liberals like to leave that part out.

Why is this so focking hard to understand? Drag shows have been around for a VERY long time. Nobody really cared so long as it remained adult entertainment. There is ZERO reasons for a man to dress up as a HYPER sexualized woman in order to read to kids, or as of late (slippery slope) dance for the kids. If you want to read to kids be a normal focking person.

To me the spike in trans specifically is way more concerning than that polls of who identifies as lbgtq overall.  That gets more and more inclusive and starts to lose meaning as we add things and change definitions.

Yes I do. It seems you don’t. You think kids can legally do whatever they want with a note from mom.

No I don't.  You seem to think you can write a law that says "No kids at drag shows" and that's gonna work.

Quote

Nearly 270 public educators were arrested on child sex-related crimes in the US in the first nine months of this year, ranging from grooming to raping underage students.

An analysis conducted by Fox News Digital found that from Jan. 1 to Sept. 30, at least 269 educators were arrested, which works out to roughly one arrest a day.

The 269 educators included four principals, two assistant principals, 226 teachers, 20 teacher’s aides and 17 substitute teachers.

At least 199 of the arrests, or 74%, involved alleged crimes against students.

The analysis looked at local news stories week by week featuring arrests of K-12 principals, assistant principals, teachers, substitute teachers and teacher’s aides on child sex-related crimes in school districts across the country. Arrests that weren’t publicized were not counted in the analysis, meaning the true number may well be higher.

I was asking him, because as I posted earlier, the law makes the distinction about wearing clothing that's not stereotypical of your assigned gender at birth, which is bulls1t.

I’ve learned any time I see certain posters posting here that I need to take what they say with a grain of salt. Cause most of the time it’s either a flat out lie or spun in a way that is completely different from the truth.

This is one of those cases

Unfortunately yes. I live in a place with not good public schools and my kid’s education comes first. It’s a compromise we’ve made.

We don’t participate in the church though or let him take part in activities where priests could get to know him.

Speaking of strawmen, you don't seem to know what a strawman is.  This thread is about trans and was started by @GutterBoy, you'll have to ask him about his obsession.  :dunno:

Well, you can, see. Local ordinances are legal. No porn shops near a school either. Have a problem with that?

Oh, so you’re kid goes to one of those Catholic schools where the kids don’t go to mass or receive sacraments. Is there a rule the priests aren't allowed around the kids? I kinda doubt it.

That’s what the people that live there want. Sorry it hurts your feelings. Just like in California prostitutes can work the corner near the school. Oh well.

Gutterboy thinks a town can ban alcohol sales, period, but they can’t restrict childrens access to an inappropriate setting for kids. Lol.
