Sure, it's a lower number than it has been but big whoop.  But it's still going up.  It couldn't keep going up at that level forever.  It's still way too high and 2.5 times the Fed target of 2%.  And, if you read this article, people are still hurting big time:

While this is true, lets celbrate some relief.  And Biden has had to absorb some criticism within his party for giving in and changing some big mistakes he made that created this mess.  So if he is learning, or even just giving in....I will take it. He is not likely to ever get it back to a proper place, we would need someone with economic acumen to step in and reverse more of what he has done.

It’s going down is the good part. The Fed is raising rates as fast as it can without focking us all up.

Example

And the beauty is we do not actually have to wait for production for these changes to manifest.  Simply by moving to allow greater production the speculators respond.

Its not enough. Its too little too late.  But my god we need something to give us some relief from the torment he has put on us.

Are you saying Republicans don’t agree with Feds decision to raise rates to cool inflation? I was unaware of that.

Your own article says he approved the Willow project because otherwise he would have been sued.  And nothing in that article indicates this move affected inflation or oil/gas prices.  Sorry, not giving him credit here.  Got anything else?

I have no focking clue what the Republicans think, nor do I care.  Why do so many people around here look at everything through political eyes and not what's best for the country and their fellow citizens?  FFS can't you see that BOTH parties are full of sh*t?

So, this 5% is year over year? Yeah, I'll hold off on the celebration. People are getting crushed by consumer prices.

Energy and food prices are not included in the inflation rate. This is just another deceiving number from the US government.

Raising interest rates is one of the few tools that they have to slow money flow. Making money less “cheap” to cool the economy is the whole point - things like being able to purchase a home with borrowed money will be impacted and is the point of this mechanism.

It’s a delicate line they are trying to walk here. Slow economy without crashing it into a mountain.

It's gonna crash.  Biden doesn't know what he's doing.  100% certainty.

I get it.  I'm just not willing to give Biden credit for something he had nothing to do with.  Inflation couldn't keep going up at those levels indefinitely.  But it's still going up at an unsustainable rate.  Any reduction is DESPITE Biden, not because of anything he has done.  But some people are "celebrating" this?  Not me.

Thank you. On a phone and am getting to the point of needing glasses 😂

The point remains our economy I believe is in decent shape all things considered as it should be. Compared to other nations we are doing ok.

Saudi Arabia's energy minister warns speculators ahead of OPEC+ meeting

Quote

"We should be brave enough to attend to the future without continuing the so-called 'kicking the can' policies, those policies that may allow us to fend the situation for this month, next month or the month after but with that we are losing sight of our intentions and our more important objectives," he said.

Pretty sure that is a dig at America  😄
