Prices are dropping; inflation is going down

Gas still high...interest rates are horrible.  Car prices are stupidly high.

Even lumber prices suck.

Lumber guys won't commit to having a lot of dead product so they are always the last to rebound.

But yeah, although national average gas is down quite a bit for some reason prices where I live are only down 20-30 cents from all time high.  And remember it was $2.00 when Biden took office, still up 75%.

Car/Home prices/supply haven't recovered at all.

Jesus...timo...gaslit much?

Yea gas went up recently here.  Not a ton but going up.

People tend to forget what food used to cost.  People are just getting used to paying more.  Everything is still wildly expensive compared to 4 years ago.  Golf league dues went up again for the 2nd year in a row basically because of the food.  Before hand the golf leagues dues were the same for like 7 years in a row.

No. It was hopeful news at the time. I continue to be hopeful.
Unlike many here I don’t associate the current inflation with the actions or Inaction of our government, whether Democrat or Republican. There is almost nothing they have done, or can do, to affect it IMO. So all we can do is hope for the best.

I think we can and should be hopeful.  As long as there is not a repeat of the mistakes to infuse money into the system as has been done by the current administration we can allow the Fed to manage things, it will still take a long time....but at least the failed policies would no longer be harmful.

If you believe that Biden caused inflation (which is dumb) then you have to believe that he is now fixing inflation (which is equally as dumb), but you can't have it both ways.

Untrue.  Evntually I expect the Fed to take action to fix the problems created by Biden's policies.  If the raising of rates is having the expected corretive action, we can and should see this as a positive. And so long as Biden does nothing else to push inflation higher, we should be better off.

Inflation is really the only issue that Republicans have that could possibly get Americans to vote for them beyond the base. If you guys really think that transgenders or Hunter Biden is going to create a red wave next time around, good luck with that. If inflation and gas prices become no longer an issue, forget about it.

I think inflation is the main issue for sure. The criminality of Biden is a big one for me as well. I also am discontent with his constant pandering on social issues, the lying, the hypocrisy and bad foreign relations policies. Its really just a general opposition to liberal policies since I see them as failing the people of the nation time and again though.

OK, putting aside all the ways I disagree with you, I think you’ll concede that neither you nor I represent the average American, who is at best causally aware of politics and really only concerned when it affects them personally. I say that if you take away the inflation issue, the second most important issue to most of these folks is abortion. And that means they will vote Democrat.

Yeah, I see that my experience and concerns might be slightly different from some others. I think in general people want to have enough money to meet their needs, and some extra to do others stuff. And beyond that I think they want their kids to be happy and successful. Maybe have enough in savings to retire one day etc. And then generally to be left alone.

Abortion is another one, and while I support abortion I cannot ignore that it is a moral wrong. And I am being entirely a hypocrit here. But I think it helps society so I am supporting it.  Its abig issue for people.  For women who want to fock without consequences its a major issue, and then for those who want to be seen as virtuous in pretending to support women its a tool.

Its either one or the other.

Aware me how Biden caused inflation when he was operating under Trump's budget and none of the bills he signed had spent any significant $'s, yet inflation started taking off nonetheless.

Aware me how that's possible cultist.

Cause we all know the actual cause of inflation was Trump's adding $8T to the debt and crying like a lil bish whenever the Fed raised rates.

Do you cultist think you're actually fooling anyone with a brain?  ie not a cultist...SMH

Increased energy costs are a big driver of inflation. Biden went after our energy supply on day one.  Closed our pipeline down and opened Russias for Putin.

In the weeks following U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to scrap the Keystone XL oil pipeline, posts on social media have claimed that the project “was in Phase 4 & just about completed” and that it had been “paid for” by the time Biden “pulled the plug.” While it is true that the project had secured funding, which was largely expected to be paid out in 2021 and 2022, the claim is partly false, as less than 10% of the pipeline had been built by the time Biden formally revoked the permit.

So educated you've never heard the term "futures".

Let alone how they affect current prices.

Let alone the pipeline would be running by now.

LOLOLOLOLOL

Trump had crushed oil demand so bigly that there was tons of capacity to bring back online now that BIden has got the country back and running.

And the pipeline would have have produced a drop of oil, simply transport it a different way.

Cot damn you cultist are freaking morons...SMH

Here’s what really happened: No one shut down, canceled, or shut off the Keystone Pipeline. It is fully operational, daily delivering 590,000 barrels of tar-sands oil in Canada to U.S. refineries.

What some pipeline advocates think is the “Keystone Pipeline” is a 1,700-mile “shortcut” called Keystone XL, or KXL. It would have sliced through Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma to the Texas Gulf Coast, delivering 830,000 barrels of tar sands oil per day. Many residents of those states fought fiercely against the pipeline cutting through their land.

Now, “Build the Keystone Pipeline” has become a social-media mantra, as if the United States could so decree. It is the Canadian firm, TC Energy, formerly TransCanada, that officially terminated the project once President Biden withdrew its permits.

Even if construction on the pipeline began tomorrow, KXL could not be up and running in less than five years. The KXL pipeline was a project developed by a foreign company that would have delivered foreign oil products to mostly foreign markets.

Highly educated. University of Phoenix probably.  Never heard of Nordstream 2. Biden lifted the sanctions on it that Trump put on them. Then Biden blew it up.  Biden also called Saudi Arabia a pariah state. Which is fine, they are.  Then he went and kissed their ass. They have responded by cutting more production. Very strong.

Inflation can only go so high before the consumer stops spending, which is partially what we are seeing.  Without money to buy goods, prices are going to steady. The whole supply and demand deal.

Americans have artificially been kept afloat by increasing their credit card debt.  Americans are now close to 1 Trillion in credit card debt which is up 17% since last year.  That lifeline has a limit and people are hitting it.

I should also add that we will have 40 million Americans who will have to start student loan repayments in Aug/Oct timeframe.  Its been reported that 2/3 of that 40 million will struggle to make their payments.  So this again will be less money chasing goods that will bring the inflation number down some, but in reality things aren't improving.

Yeah, too bad it was a major supply for most of Europe.  Fok them.

Quote

The European Union considers the incident to be sabotage of key European energy infrastructure. The Nord Stream explosions also resulted in the worst release of methane gas in human history, with estimates ranging from 100,000 to 400,000 tons of methane released into the atmosphere.

I witnessed younger people this past weekend at a bar paying 15 dollars for some bullshit pre mixed margarita out of a machine and 11 dollars for some IPA and the same for a seltzer.  I was the only person with cash on the bar.  Every one of them were handing over credit cards.  This is gonna pop at some point.  Not everyone has a mommy or daddy to bail them out.

Yep, people suck with money and credit. In a way it's masking how bad things really are. When that bill comes due, the house of cards crashes.

I think at the current rate we are only two generations away from having no middle class. Just the haves and have-nots. That is if there is still an America left.
