Biden sends 1500 troops to Border

Recommended Posts

Didn't see any mention of this.  I only thought it was interesting when I got wind of some of the local lefties organizing a protest this weekend to speak out against it.

I'm sure the magatards here will not approve, because it's Biden, and all that "Biden wants open borders" BS is proven false, again.

Sure. You think they are there to stop them. Lol. They are there to give order to the invasion, not prevent it.  Sucka.

A U.S. official told The Hill the troops would be deployed for 90 days to assist with work including ground-based detection and monitoring, data entry, and warehouse support, but they would not be doing law enforcement work.

The troops are meant to station at the border until U.S. Customs and Border Protection can more adequately address its needs through contracted support, according to the official.

Using the military for data entry monkeys and warehouse work, until they can hire some 1099s?  Dang, Biden really is serious about this!

Why would lefties protest border security?

Troops are not allowed to engage or stop any illegals.   How does that help?

I welcome this as some acknowledgement that the border is not secure and needs attention.  Glad he is starting to take some action, as he did with the energy sector, to implement some simple and common sense actions.

I wonder, did Mayorkas object to this....did he tell his boss that everything is just fine?

The left is viewing this as militarizing the border, and denying people their right to enter our country as they please.

Oh.  So Biden wanting open borders is bullshit? Then why is the military being sent there to facilitate, and not prevent?

I don`t get this.  Most of my family and friends are Dem and they want a secure border.  This should not be a left-right issue at all, but a common national security issue.

If the border was open, there would be nothing to facilitate.

I believe we all want a secure border.  Not one person wants an open border, and we don't have that.  I believe the disagreement is that those on the right don't want anyone to come in.  Those on the left want to allow migrants to come in from a humanitarian perspective.

Biden’s actions here are too tepid. He needs to secure the border at this point. Whatever it takes.

I continue to want immigration reform and more open immigration. But in the meantime we need to enforce our laws. We can’t have the chaos that’s happening now and is about to get even worse. It needs to be stopped.

In addition, I believe there are enough reasonable conservatives out there who will join liberals and moderates in finding a good set of solutions to this issue, even including some sort of amnesty for those already here- IF we secure the border first. That’s got to come first.

here you go

1) secure the border

2) give every illegal 6 months to report to agency

3) show they have been living, working and contributing in this country

4) give them work visas and EIN

5) their visas are on 2 year limits, during that time they MUST pay 10,000$ (via taxation) in order to start their legal immigration

6) pass citizenship and become a citizen

anyone who does not report within 6 months is deported and never allowed back

10,000 x 20 mill illegals, even if half go this route its 100 billion, more than enough to pay for the border wall which we finance as part of the plan

7) anyone hiring illegals after this policy in place gets a minimum mandatory 1 year prison sentence

Conservatives have no problem with people coming here, they just want them coming in the legal way.  The Democrats only want votes and don't care how they get it.  Sanctuary states and cities are the same as "We support open borders", for the sole purpose that they need them to become voters and stay in power.

I'm good with that.

I'd entertain the idea of a "Border Commission", who's sole job is to maintain the laws and interworking's on securing the border, with the Federal Government only being the oversight, not the shot caller.

Yeah, that's it, how centrist a view.   There are those on the right that want a secure border and asylum seekers who actually are seeking asylum, and those on the left who want more government dependents for more votes.  But that doesn't even occur to you, does it?

Use that as a life lesson. You're wrong on everything.  Listen, don't talk.  You're not qualified to hold a position on anything related to politics.  Stick to cleaning up the strip malls.

Some of this is unworkable or impracticable. But in general I could agree with most of it.

Let me go one further: illegal immigrants should never be allowed to become full citizens. They should have legal recognition (assuming they abide by our laws) and most of the rights of citizens, but they should never have the right to vote.

Lol. You (and Strike for that matter) are wrong 99% of the time. You MAY have been partly right on this issue. So take some time to celebrate; take your kids to a good drag queen show.

One very important problem with this plan, and it really goes to the heart of the entire matter: if you give illegal immigrants citizenship and pay them minimum wage, you’re only creating demand for more illegal immigrants. Part of the reason they are here is because minimum wage DOESN’T WORK. It creates a black market system for lower wage employees.

Also, securing the border, while necessary, is a temporary solution, a tourniquet of sorts. The real problem is that the surge is a result of of a combination of chaotic governments, violence, and climate change taking place in Latin America. Unless we take a stand in addressing these problems they are only going to get worse. We need to find a way to help make Latin America a desirable, safe  and prosperous place for its people. We need to do this for our own survival.

Heterosexual males prefer Burlesque and Strip Clubs with real women. And we correctly categorize those as age 21+.

I've already got tickets to The Empire Strips Back.

You would sleep with trannies if you weren't already married.

It should go without explanation the difference between real men and fagggots, but, the above is a pretty good example.

You like to use the phrase “real men” a lot. Is that because you think about them so much?
I support your inner struggle.

"Open border" is just another one of those MAGAturd buzz phrases like "our cities are burning."

They just parrot what they've heard on Newsmax or what came out of Tucker Carlson's mouth.

We have a border patrol, walls and checkpoints galore. We spend more than $17 billion a year on it and employ more than 60,000.

You can't cross a bridge from Mexico into the United States without going through border patrol. Then there are checkpoints where vehicles get inspected. I've been through them myriad times. I've also crossed bridges into Mexico more than a few times.

There is a crossing at Big Bend National Park. It used to be that you'd pay $5 to some Mexicans to take you across the river on a flat boat to Boquillos, a tiny town where one could eat, do some tequila shots and pick up a few trinkets. Today, you have to produce a passport and go through a checkpoint to get over there and back.

But it's still easy to set foot on Mexico soil just a few miles downstream at a canyon. It's easy to just walk across the river, and the Mexicans just set up little stands on the U.S. side to sell stuff. It would be easy to stuff a Mexican in the trunk and smuggle him into the country, and I could do so without going through a checkpoint.

Our border with Mexico stretches almost 2,000 miles, so it's next to impossible to secure it all.

Instead of focusing on the symptoms, I wish we could zero in on the problem, which is why so many of these folks risk their lives and travel a long-ass way on foot to get here. Those who come up from South America have quite the perilous journey.

Seems like Mexico ought to be doing a lot more to address the issue instead of just being a doormat.
