avoiding injuries 1,511 Posted May 5, 2023 How are you celebrating today? I made a batch of spicy margaritas for a fiesta later on this evening, but I’m starting the day by bringing donuts to the local Home Depot for the illegals looking for day work. How bout you? Hawkeye21 2,382 Posted May 5, 2023 I don't think I've ever really celebrated. I honestly forgot about it. My sister-in-law's birthday is today and she always makes a huge deal about it. I think that soured it for me.

wiffleball 4,788 Posted May 5, 2023 It's been a long time, but I swear I think 5M was almost crazier than Saint Patty's Day in Houston.

jerryskids 6,567 Posted May 5, 2023 Could be an interesting night... we are going to the Suns/Nuggets game 3 tonight which is in downtown Phoenix. It is next to the baseball stadium, which has a game at the same time. It's also First Friday, a big art festival that goes on the first Friday of every month (although that is a little bit away). And Cinco de Mayo. And the cherry on top is that freeways between us and downtown and some surface streets downtown are under construction on weekends and will likely be shut down when we leave the game. If we are able to park in our usual spot (an AME church with great access to a major exit street) it hopefully won't be too bad when we leave. Anyway, we have reservations for dinner on a patio at 5PM meeting two of our kids for the game, weather is supposed to be unseasonably awesome (high of 80), and we will drink a few adult beverages and cheer on the Suns.

Hardcore troubadour 14,935 Posted May 6, 2023 I consider Mexico to be hostile towards the US that intentionally allows a lot of criminal behavior that directly affects this country. The can go to hell until they start acting like a responsible country.
