Leaving California

You appear to be suggesting that demand can force prices to rise, are you sure that is a philosophy you want to champion?

Absolutely.   If you are leaving the liberl hell hole, do not vote the same inept people in where you go, or you will ruin that locale as well.

It's really not anymore.  But you've always lived there so how would you know?

It’s just a fact. People like moving from a spot where they sell their 1600 foot bungalow for 1.5 million and buy a house for 750K.

This causes issues that are unsolvable and people just have to deal.

I agree.  I see supply and demand being an ever-present factor across industries.  If you either add more people to the market, or limit access to houses you will see prices rise, would you agree?

You shouldn’t be a total cack 24/7, but it happens.

Pretty soon, they’ll be going back to Cali.

The best of Cali is pretty hard to beat. But cost prohibitive for most.

Born and raised here, just outside of Sacramento.

Paradise? No.

But, I do like where I live. Tons of recreation. An hour east and I get the mountains, skiing, etc. An hour west and I get the ocean. I live in a city of around 80k and unfortunately due to Bay Area transplants the housing has gone up exponentially in the last 10 to 20 years. My city was made famous by a certain Johnny Cash song and a prison.

I would LOVE to love somewhere else with lower taxes, lower crime, etc. But we are actually in one of the more desirable areas of CA and kinda stuck due to family.

I personally know a few families that have left CA tho, some to Nevada, Idaho. One moved all the way to Georgia.

It really still is. It’s a gorgeous morning.  I’m waiting for my personal trainer and we’re going to work out by the beach. There’s a cool breeze and sunshine. Some kids are out surfing.

Theres nothing better.

In LA this week for work. Is a fantastic town with so many great little hoods, always great to come to for work, place gets a bad rap.

Definitely have noticed on past few trips here that service industry is hurting still. I think pandemic allowed people to move and cost of living here is just so high making server wages just won’t cut it.

Not sure how that fixes itself.

Texas isn't exactly cheap anymore. 1.5 million won't buy you much nowadays.

With that will come many of the issues that other cities deal with. Good luck! I’m sure everyone in Texas will love it 😀

Well, no. California encourages and allows violent behavior and doesn't punish criminals.

Better hope those that allowed CA to be destroyed and are heading to TX, vote red to counter all of bidens new voters pouring across the border. Don't think Abbott can ship them to D cities & states where their vote would be neutralized, fast enough.

You

Libby blames all the homelessness in his chit city on wealth inequality while secretly hoping it spreads to the good parts of the country.   What a first class piece of chit.

I am not secretly hoping anything, dope. One, I’m posting in here about it. Two, we’ll see how different areas deal with things like home values going up 4x in a couple years, large influx of population, different values etc.

You realize you don’t have to be a total anus all the time, right? I hope you are ok.

That does not sound like equity to me.  You should give up your benefits to a nearby AA, remember, you didnt earn that....  😬

Sometimes you’ve got to trust yourself

It ain’t like anywhere else

California is awesome, for those who have money and don't need to see the other side of the tracks. Just ignore it

Couldn’t one say the same for anywhere?

Look I’m not a radical socialist. I believe in equality of opportunity, not equality of outcome. What makes me a liberal (among other things) s that I think the government can and should play a role in helping the less fortunate. And unlike many conservatives I don’t think we have equality of opportunity. We’re working on it. But we need to work a little harder.

No, we don't have California's policies here. It's nowhere near the same. We don't have looting, rioting, Tranny's raping kids, Drag Queen story hour or thousands of homeless drug addicts wandering around like Biden in an ice cream shop.
