MA middle school students push back against LGBTQ agenda

Recommended Posts

I am assiduously opposed to tearing down their posters and/or removing their ability to show their beliefs.  And if you are a true conservative I think you should share this position.

It is wrong when liberals do it to others, and it is wrong when it is done to liberals as well.  Wrong is wrong. End of story.

Exactly. All people need to stop viewing these things as zero sum contests.

I appreciate wanting to have Memorial Day celebrated. There are better ways to go about trying to get that done.

Moreover, what the fock does anyone care how they celebrate? I mean, let them go enjoy the world as they see fit. As long as they do not impact MY experience, everything is grand.

I know the leader of the Proud Boys wasn't in attendance on January 6th because he'd gotten arrested the day before for desecrating a BLM placard or rainbow flag. Unlike sh*tting on the American flag, which something our overlords don't mind, if not support, showing disrespect to our overlords' revered symbols is a hate crime.

Your point here has merit.

The powers that be were not actually abhoring the actions as it pertains to the nation, so much as what it meant to their power. The same people who pretend they see Jan 6th as this horrible mark against our sancitity are only too happy to sacrafice that sanctity for their political benefit

What is this whole Memorial Day thing?  I tried looking for something, couldn't find anything.  I've never seen a school celebrate a memorial day.  You get the day off, but what is there to celebrate?  We have always had a parade and honored the fallen veterans.  I think it's a smoke screen.

I have always been here.  The intersection of us agreeing is not me changing anything.  But where we disagree you see something dark, whereas I do not do the same for you.

I have never waivered from this position. But where I see something wrong I will say it, and sometimes you will not like it.  And that is fine.

I seem to remember a few weeks ago you defending the abhorrent actions by the right with the logic, "well the left does it, so we must do it back to teach them a lesson or they will never change", but whatever, not trying to bring up an old fight.  You're good now.

As a youth in elementary school in the 60's we recieved some minimal instruction on the history of memorial day, usually the last day of school before that holiday.  Nothing extensive, but a bit of instruction.  The instruction occured at an end of day assembly in the gym.  The flag was displayed and the most accomplished trumpet player in the student band would take a run at playing Taps and we were dismissed.  My takeaway at the time, novice musicians should not attempt to play Taps.

I never stated that I supported it.  I stated a fact, that the left introduced the behavior, normalized it, made it an acceptable tool..... I lamented the behavior for the adolecent nature it is.

I also noted that how can those who did this now object to it.....when it comes back to them?  Of course people adjusted and did it back, of course  they felt they had no other recourse. Thank you. Agreed.

Fighting against extremism is a traditional conservative position, and in fact separates it from liberalism. The father of the conservative movement, Edmund Burke, predicted the excesses of the French Revolution. I believe many modern day conservatives have gotten away from this. It’s refreshing to discover one who hasn’t.

My last post was not to suggest that liberals are necessarily in favor of extremism, but we do often turn a blind eye to it in favor of idealism. Nonetheless, society needs liberals to pursue idealism. Society needs conservatives to caution that pursuit, and pull us back from radical changes too quickly, the struggle between the two is desirable. There can never be, nor should there be, a permanent victory for either side.

yesterday a young girl in a red bikini asked me if i needed help yesterday getting my kayak back on my truck rack.  She was being kind to the elderly.  I think she thought I might have a heart attack if I did it myself.  Frankly her body was more likely to give me a heart attack than would the effort of lifting the kayak.   Oh, by "young girl" I meant someone probably in their mid-20's.

https://whdh.com/news/counter-message-protest-during-pride-spirit-day-at-burlington-middle-school-sparks-town-wide-discussion/

Quote

BURLINGTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Parents and community members spoke up at a meeting of the Burlington Select Board Monday after an incident at the Marshall Simonds Middle School last week.

The incident happened on Friday when Principal Cari Perchase said “some students had independently organized a counter message to Pride Spirit Day.”

“This became evident in the lunchroom, where several groups of students wore red, white, blue, or black, including face paint,” Perchase wrote in a letter to families.

Perchase said stickers, banners and signs were also torn off walls and crumpled into water fountains.

“…groups of students were heard chanting, ‘U.S.A are my pronouns,’ and students glared intimidatingly at faculty members showing pride,” Perchase continued. “Students were shamed into removing their stickers or covering their clothing with rainbows.”

Community members reacted on Monday.

“I thought Burlington was a safer place,” said parent Carl Foss.

Perchase said she received some feedback that the counter message was in response to the school not recognizing the observance of Memorial Day.

Perchase said the lack of recognition for Memorial Day was “an oversight” and said school officials apologized to students on Monday.

I just turned 50, and I'm in great shape, at least for my age, but I was in costco a few weeks back and was trying to get this patio umbrella out of the rack and was struggling as it hit the open umbrella above it, and this 20 something chick helped me.  At first I thought, Hey I still got it, but then I realized she was just helping an old man.

I think they should be okay tearing down stickers and whatnot, kids have always been little vandals, but chanting “USA” is a bit much.

calm down you little sh!ts and take your punishment which is going to come down.

So the school didn't recognize Memorial Day (but it's on the school website), so the kids decided to destroy pride flags and intimidate other kids as revenge?  Some how I think the veterans that died would not want to be honored with such behavior.

It’s all about a six figure DEI position . Some kids threw a tantrum because they didn’t want to wear the rainbow, others threw a hissy because not everyone bent the knee and ripped a few posters/stickers off the wall. Two weeks later we get all the caterwauling at the school board meeting to fill the position. Like almost everything else , follow the money. One side blames the Memorial Day slight the other rampant homophobia

For someone who supposedly joined the military your take on this is absolutely horrible and you should be embarrassed of yourself. I’m sure your retarded ass is fine if the gays protest 4th of July, burn the American flag, tear down america posters, and harass people who are wearing American outfits. But the moment somebody does it to the other side? Oh NOW it’s bad. You’re the type of person I’d slap the ever living Sh1t out of at a PTA meeting for defending pedophiles

I did not realize PTA meetings had the potential for such entertainment until the last year or so.  Seems that is becoming more common behavior.

It’s middle school. They should expect to START learning about lgbtq around that time just like they should start to learn sex IN SCHOOL. Now, they can be exposed to it or taught about lgbtq earlier in life but that MUST be done by parents. NOT the school as it involves sex and sexual acts. If they are going to do that, then they should be required to have the parents fill out a permission slip. Just like they would have to if they were going to show a movie or go out on a field trip

You can teach lgbtq without describing sex acts.  There's a kid on our street that has 2 moms.  When my daughter was young she said something about it, and we were like "Yeah, some kids have 2 moms, some 2 dads, it's OK", and she was like whatevs.  We didn't need to go into scissoring or anything.

Which is fine to teach AT HOME. Not in the school. It’s not their child, it’s not their right, it’s not their place, and it’s not their business. The only things that should be taught in school are the subjects required. Math, English, history, science, etc. Gender ideology has no business there. If you wanna teach that then it should be included in sex Ed when they get into middle school. Anything before that, as I said, indoctrination by the school as the kids do not understand. That’s all. Can’t you guys just accept it being taught along with sex Ed with the kids themselves are able to comprehend it? That is an extremely fair and rational way to teach it & have it included. If that’s not enough and you want the school to teach it to kids younger than that then yes you’re pushing pedophilia and indoctrination and that’s not ok. I don’t understand WHY you want schools to focus on this when those same schools have kids who can’t even read or write. But hey, they know what transgender means 🤷🏻‍♂️
