This is a great discussion and debate. Of course I think that Newsom wins easily. Many of you will probably see the opposite. Even so this sort of discussion is really missing these days.

Of course this is going to fuel speculation that Newsom wants to run for President (and Hannity was eager enough to fuel that fire). But unless Biden himself changes his mind about running, it won’t happen. 
But look for Newsom to challenge and probably easily defeat Kamala Harris in 2028.

For being such a Conservative boogeyman I realized I have not really heard him speak too often. These clips have been making the rounds on my various social media. Agreed it’s fun watching him slap around Hannity on some of his dumb talking points. They also had some decent exchanges like normal people who disagree on stuff.

I think many people are judging him only on his appearance and that he’s a Dem from California. Fair enough that’s how it works but he seems to be a pretty savvy communicator.

Shetting in the streets is a bad policy.

Pre-Covid SF was one of top places to go on a work trip. Great city. Expensive was the the only issue.

It’s still great. Yes there’s too many homeless, and that’s a real problem (and not just in San Francisco). But still great restaurants, great views, walking through Chinatown, Union Square, Fisherman’s Wharf, Nob Hill, North Beach are all still awesome.

Posts like this make no sense to me. California is paradise on Earth. The beaches, the food, the weather, the beautiful women. It’s no wonder our economy pays for most of the red states. Who would want to be anywhere else?

In truth it’s not a good day for me to defend SF as there was a shooting at Pier 39 of all places. Unbelievable. 
 

Im not going to tell you there aren’t big problems in San Francisco. Of course there are. But you want to blame all of them in liberal policies, whixh is pretty stupid since it’s been a liberal city forever, with many of the mayors far more leftist than Gavin Newsom. SF will be OK.

California has good, strict gun laws but we can’t keep people from driving to Nevada and buying whatever they want. We need federal gun restrictions.

liberals used to not believe in inviting homeless to take over the city, shoot up and sh1t anywhere they want, encourage drug use and pass regulation that theft under 1000$ is perfectly acceptable, nor defunding the police.  Hell 2 employees at Lululemon in SF were fired for recording the store being robbed

oh that whole Chicago defense, got it...lol.  They drive to Indiana to get guns where its easy... wait why isnt there 1000's of shootings in Indiana then

driving to Nevada to buy a firearm, you still have to do a federal background check and have it shipped to a licensed dealer or you are already breaking the law, and Gun vendors in Nevada know that as well.

here Tim, I challenge you, drive to Vegas and go buy a gun and go thru the process.  I have and it was the same exact thing I did in Cali

Last trip there was in late 2019 and was fantastic. There was a boatload of homeless very close to Union Square which was wild, like it looked like Road Warrior walking back from dinner between two very nice neighborhoods but that stuff happens in big cities sometimes. 

SF has such a unique setting, will be fine in long run. NoCal is very, very nice. The WFH issue I think is the biggest deal, all those tech bros and nerds not in the city. Not sure since I don’t really care that much and don’t follow what’s going on in SF but look forward to another trip there at some point.

California residents cannot buy guns in Nevada that aren't legal in California. 

But I love the "Every state should have the laws I want" mentality. Very American.

He would need a Nevada license if he wants to buy something that is legal in Nevada but not legal in California. If it is legal in California, there's no need to go to Nevada to get it.

I was impressed that Newsome went on Fox, good for him.

And I think Hannity did a better job than I would have anticipated. Glad he didn't gp to some extreme and kept it more even keeled. No one got their ass handed to them 

I felt like Newsome took some responsibility for things, which is remarkable, and he won some points from me on that. 

Clearly he is schooling around, and hoping that Biden is told to not run by the people in power, and he will have an easy slide into the nomination.

There should be more give and takes like this.   Most Dem politicians are scared to go on FOX.  Clinton never would.

Newsome was smooth, looked like Bradley Cooper in a movie scene, he knew all the party lines but that is his job. Hannity wanted him to bash Biden but no Dem ever would in an interview.  Even Newsome looked like he wanted to laugh at that clip of Bidens gaffes but held it together.

These types of interviews should be on a regular basis. Newsome even said the problem is people only get their side of the news on some stations.  Thats is very true.

Hannity got clobbered. You could see him get tongue tied and flustered when Newsom didn’t accept his premises or let him walk all over him. Couldn’t handle even the slightest bit of pushback.

They probably had a laugh about it during the break though, since they’re basically on the same side and playing a game.
