jerryskids 6,557 Posted July 17, 2023 Have to disagree, Breaking Bad was better. I enjoy complex characters who are not easily placed in the good or bad category; it was what led me to George R R Martin's books ages ago when they first came out. IMO Jimmy became a bit of a caricature including his ... behavior at the very end (I don't know if we are going into spoilers here, maybe add that to the title?). Chuck was probably closest to that type of character.

Chuck was probably closest to that type of character. I think Jimmy was just tired at the end and wanted to do something for Kim, who was a real influence in his life. He looked old and haggard. He probably didn't want to go to jail for 7+ years and go back to the same life that much older. I guess if you start getting old after a life of crime you may just want some peace. Even it it means prison. He was a multi-millionaire at one point. Then he went back to scraping the bottom.

Gepetto 1,288 Posted July 17, 2023 No spoilers. @weepawswatch it or google it if you want to know. I've seen Breaking Bad but still need to watch all 6 seasons of Better Call Saul. Better Call Saul is considered top 10 show all time.

patweisers44 815 Posted July 17, 2023 I would disagree with the seafoam take. I felt like the character development in Breaking Bad was fantastic. Walter went from a likable character (albeit somewhat unbelievable..think Fugue State..at first) to a hated sociopath. Jesse's character did the exact opposite.

Bill E. 703 Posted July 18, 2023 Liked them both but BB > BCS BB Saul was more entertaining than BCS Saul. Mikewas great in both though. The ending of BB was great. The ending of BCS sucked imo. Jimmy had one speed in both shows and he ended so out of character. It ended up being another in the list of shows that could not stick the lading.

You dont understand his character very well if you think that. The entire last two seasons were full of Jimmy starting to second guess Saul. Lalo almost blew..........no spoilers. FrancieFootball 96 Posted July 18, 2023 "Breaking Bad" is the G.O.A.T., followed by "Sopranos." I'd rank a lot of shows ahead of BCS: "The Wire," "Seinfeld," "The Office," "Cheers," "M.A.S.H.," "All in the Family," "Mary Tyler Moore" and "Ozark," to name a few. I didn't really like the way BCS ended, kind of like "Game of Thrones." And it seemed kind of slow in spots. I don't understand this whole "likeable" aspect. "Breaking Bad" had GREAT characters.
