Need help with a new song!

As many of you are painfully aware, I've written a bunch of songs in my life an out five albums, including the infamous first album, "Shark Dance."

I have 11 new songs in the can for my not-so--anticipated sixth album, called "Harvey."  This album has been a decade in the making and promises to disappoint.

I plan put out the first single, which was inspired by some of you, soon. 

But I'm looking for help with the final song I'm recording. I've been tinkering with it for a while. The lyrics were going to be about the Civil War, but with all the talk of a new civil war, I've decided to write about what a future civil war would look like. 

So if we were to have another civil war, what do you think it would look like? Bits and pieces of what you say most likely will make it into the lyrics.

I enjoy history documentaries about old wars... with two exceptions - the Vietnam War and the Civil War. I guess I'm not interested because the good guys lost both of them.

Show me what you have to date. I have lyrically written over a hundred songs. They are more of a mix of poetry and music songs I wrote down when insomnia, drugs, and alcohol was strangling me. Do you have the instrumental down? I’ve spoken with numerous musicians and all say to have the music and then the lyrics to combine them as it’s a process that works best.

I usually have the music done in my head before I even start recording. It rarely turns out exactly like it gets written in my head, but spontaneously creative forces come into play. 

The bridge on one of my new songs, "Man's Job," came out of nowhere while making scratch tracks.

I respectfully disagree on the Civil War, because good guys don't own slaves. As for Vietnam, the south was a mess that was given every opportunity to defend itself but was too corrupt to do so. Seems like Vietnam is doing just fine these days.

My ancestors didn't own slaves, yet they fought for the South. Ya really believe the average Confederate soldier was thinking "I'm fighting so rich people can keep slaves"?  They were fighting for the Southern rights. Slavery was dying out socially anyway. People make it sound like "no Civil War, there'd still be slaves in the South!" Ridiculous. It would've been long gone before the turn of the century.

My biggest problem with that illegal war is had the original 13 colonies been told "once you join, you can't leave!" none of them would've joined. That wasn't the deal. Yet war criminal Lincoln decided it was and all the crimes committed under his name (Atlanta for one) lay at his feet.
