wiffleball 4,788 Posted September 3, 2023 Is breaking all kinds of records with her eras tour. It's crazy, she personally makes 7 mil per concert. It's pretty cool though. She gave 200K to each of the drivers in the tour. Moreover, she's giving record donations to local food banks. Girl is owning the industry. Hey, good for her.
peenie 1,905 Posted September 3, 2023 My daughter saw her when she came to Atlanta and loved her show. She even saw Beyoncé and loved Taylor’s concert a bit more.

wiffleball 4,788 Posted September 3, 2023 She is going to release an eras tour movie. Tickets are almost 20 bucks. She's gonna set some huge records with that too.
The Real timschochet 6,410 Posted September 3, 2023 I was never a fan until her last 3 albums, starting with Folklore. Then Evermore and Midnights. Best music I’ve heard in 40 years, literally.

They hate feminism, hate the Barbie movie, hate a woman’s right to choose, hate the Me Too movement, hate trans and gay people. When you add these to their views on climate change and common sense gun control, you can see that they are the on the wrong side of every issue that anyone under 30 cares about. Their viewpoint is doomed.

Their viewpoint is doomed. And they paint BLM as a terrorist group, despite focusing on the peaceful aspects of Jan. 6 and ignoring the whole thing. It's digusting. I was in Dallas yesterday and saw "Black Lives Matter" on the side of a presumably black church in Dallas. There are BLM historical places in D.C., and yet they paint the whole thing as a terrorist group because some crack heads raid stores and set stuff on fire. Ignorance. Hardcore troubadour 14,927 Posted September 3, 2023 It’s true. BLM has done a lot for black people. They are directly responsible for many a young black kid having a new pair of sneakers.

You just look even more pathetic than you already are. Enjoy your time at the Glory Hole Games with your pals - that's more your speed.
wiffleball 4,788 Posted September 3, 2023 I still don't think she's a very strong singer. She may very well be. But it seems like her voice is always blended with background singers and whatnot. Still, crazy prolific songwriter. I don't know if she also writes the music to support the lyrics. But you just can't deny her impact on the industry. And, she is hella smart. But Swift is singing over 40 songs every concert performance. That’s pretty impressive. The Long Pond version of “My Tears Ricochet” is the best vocal performance I’ve heard from her. It’s astounding.

Hell some of them are literally just soundtracks piped in while people pretend to sing and play. The good ones will only use it for backing and pacing but still actually play, and occasionally break out for truly live sections
kilroy69 1,216 Posted September 3, 2023 Doing her own movie and striking a deal with AMC was a genius move. It not only bypassed hollywood, it shows that she could likely do this on every tour and make it very profitable. To put up your own 20 mil of your own cash to film it? That is prettybadass. I could very well see other successful acts that have huge fan bases like Beyoncé and Lady Gaga follow her lead. She is likely to make 40-50 million off just doing this movie. Roger Waters did it first, with This is Not a Drill. Though, TBH, the movie sucked. Concert was great, but they did a terrible job making it into a live movie. Though he did super awesome with The Wall concert movie a decade ago

kilroy69 1,216 Posted September 3, 2023 It is not the movie. It is the fact she backed it and the deal she cut with AMC . She is going to be able to turn around and renegotiate an even bigger deal the next time around. She left a lot of money on the table that will not be left on the table on her next deal with AMC.
