Danny Dimes is a below average starting QB... there are worse

Mac Jones, Kenny Pickett, Josh Dobbs, Desmond Ridder, Baker Mayfield... possibly darling Sam Howell.  Too early to tell with the rookies. 

I would also offer that Justin Herbert, for example, is more overrated.

I didn't either till I watched the Sunday Night game, Danny  just takes sack after sack when he is rattled. Dallas did the same thing to him last year and think it was a early Monday Night game. Pickett was bad throwing behind wrs and over their heads today, Also missed a few wide open guys and didn't look their way. Danny was worse though and is getting big bucks to be that bad unlike Pickett for now.

Good choices and been saying even on here that Herbert is overrated, Why the Chargers don't go far for a fairly decent team.

Ridder was pretty bad today.  You can tell the coaching staff has no faith in him as they wouldn't let him throw passes downfield.  Team was running draws on 2nd/3rd and long.  Fans were booing.  Luckily Bryce Young threw a couple picks, so they had some short fields.

That class isn't look to good so far and maybe critics was right about that draft class being very poor. I heard Matt Corral has been AWOL from the Patriots the last 3 days.

Yes! I was watching the CHI game when I got home from the Redskins game and my buddy was excited about every play Fields had saying he loved him and that he was so good. I was sitting there like “what the Fock are you seeing that I’m not”. 
And he was over hyped and over ranked in fantasy too.

I don't think he's that bad but so far he's only proven to be an average QB.  I still have faith that he can perform at a high level but the OL is still struggling and the play calling is terrible.

I don't know why anyone drafts an OSU qb and expects them to be any good. They get by there on pure athleticism, and never LEARN how to play the position.

I blame Matt Canada for the whole Steelers fiasco. Seriously, how is that man still employed?

How is he average?  He can run some.  Other than that he has shown nothing. 

Weren't you guys giving him excuses with surrounding cast/coaching? Only to say the FO has no figured it out?  Or have you given up on thr GM and coach already?

It was very obvious that the Bear's were out coached yesterday.  I've seen what Fields is capable of doing and it's impressive.  He has the skillset but I'm waiting for him to take the next step.  He's running out of time.

So what is it?  Fields is real good but coaching has failed him?  Do they need to fire their staff and GM again?  At some point he just isn't good.  The pick 6 was putrid.  No coaching in the world is going to fix a guy totally not seeing defenders in his way.

I still believe he is good.  Coaching needs to improve.  Fields still needs to improve.  The OL needs to improve.

Hopefully management is as patient as the fans.  Sign him up.  

I do agree they are a mess.  Franchise is still in trouble.  The new GM is as bad as the last.  But I have seen Fields pass rhe ball for 3 years now.  He can't see the field.  He still looks like a raw 21 year old.  I have seen very little progression.

I was expecting to see Fields to up his game in this his third season.  In a redraft Fields might not go until the 4th- 5th round. 

 At this point Feilds is what he is..not a very good QB.

I'd give Fields another full season to show a lack of improvement rather than the first game. I think for Chicago fans, hoping the lights would turn on in the offseason and then seeing they're still out in game one is deflating. We've all seen flashes.

I'm taking my own advice myself with Jaemo. Always hurt, then doing stupid sh*t in the offseason, then getting hurt again, he will have produced nothing in his first year and a third with the team. So, Jaemo resonates with serious bust vibes. Still, I'm going to just suck it up and wait until January to make up my mind then, rather than give up on the focker in September of year two. Maybe the light bulb comes on, maybe he's not going to always be a banged up adolescent. Like Fields, there's a red carpet rolled out to a role open for him if he can grab it. I mean, since you're stuck with this guy anyway, and since the "potential" is still there, keep your finger crossed and keep waiting. It's not like you can open a box and a *poof* a solid QB1 or WR2 just pops out. San Francisco 2022 being the exception as was the Greatest Show on Turf 25 years ago.

Yea Canada shouldn't be in the NFL but Kenny has yet to have a decent game against a above average D and that worries me. Jones is worthless when a little pressured.

To be fair to Daniella, he was more than a little pressured last night. Dallas has a tremendous pass rush and the Giants offensive line looked completely outmatched. That would be my biggest concern if I was a Giants fan.  Like I said to my Giants fan friends, there are going to be a lot of disappointed NY football fans this year. The Giants overachieved last season, making the playoffs and winning a game with great coaching. They really didn't add much and the schedule is tough.

Lamar .... this one is tough because I think he is overrated for that contract
Herbert ... same as lamar but not as injury prone
Rodgers/Stafford/Wilson - trio of older guys who I would take for 2-3 years, at which point you'd have moved on from Jones anyway unless he shows a lot more
