JustinCharge 2,397 Posted October 3, 2023 the local Panda Express in Santa Barbara is offering $100,000 to new employees. The fine print says its a conbo of wages and compensation. here is a similar ad fron last year. https://www.salary.com/job/panda-express/general-manager-want-to-make-100k/j202205180424127466946
JustinCharge 2,397 Posted October 3, 2023 i think a fast food robot costs the equivalent of $30-$40 per hour. wages cant really rise higher than that. and the cost of such robots is only dropping.

Probably in charge of 10 restaurants. Not relevant to any discussion involving fast food workers. Also, they never get close to the ad pay. I remember one of our warehouse managers quit to become a Wendy's GM. He was back in two months begging for his old job back because he realized the pay target was impossible to hit. Robot Fast Food Cook Costs Less Than Half A Human Worker https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnkoetsier/2022/09/28/robot-fast-food-cook-costs-less-than-half-a-human-worker/?sh=790883bf3b9e Quote Nala Robotics has launched a fast food robot that it says can fry chicken wings, French fries, and other foods, season them, and plate them all autonomously. It’s called “the Wingman,” and it’s available to rent for $2,999/month. They can work 24/7 with no breaks, no vacations, no holidays, no benefits and no whining employees to deal with. Strike 5,186 Posted February 29, 2024 So Panera Bread is exempt from the $20/hr minimum wage law in CA. They also happen to have donated significantly to Newsom's campaign and have close ties to him. No corruption there!!!

Of course it is entirely corrupt....but....I submit that it is also a perfect demonstration of how stupid politicians are in terms of action and outcome.... The assumption here on the part of Newsome is that he is helping his friend avoid the consequences of doing this, he is helping the business of Panera by protecting them from the inane policy.....which is also an admission that he knows the policy is bad.... BUT......what is missing from the calculation is the employee's......if every other business is paying $20/hr for a skillless job.....what happens to Panera in terms of hiring if they do not match it....

It's demonstrably stupid for him to do this.

Panera is a nicer environment and it’s not open all night.
BunnysBastatrds 2,315 Posted March 1, 2024 Should have titled this “Fast restaurant in California prices are going up 20% shortly as the consumers pay for that crap and the small business owners/franchises continue the exodus to greener pastures.” Sad. I'm told Money isn't in the top 5 of motivations for young workers. So you might be right.

Maximum Overkill 1,740 Posted March 1, 2024 Have you ever seen the degenerate hood rats that work at and handle your food at fast food restaurants? Hell, pay them $30 an hour, give me a $15 meal with a friendly, clean staff who actually want to be there. Do you want your assed up $5 meal or a $15 meal handled by humans who give a crap? My son recently got a job there, he is ramping up early to pay for college and since he plays lacrosse he wants to have some cash set aside since he knows he will be able to do little else. Hired to deliver, he gets decent money through tips. For a kid still in high school to work 15-20 hours per week and pull in $1000-$1200 every two weeks is great. He tells me how they trained him and stay on top of them all to be really pleasant with customers, and make their experience special, and when the managers see them being exceptional, they give them spot bonuses right there in the moment....its compelling for them all to strive to be excellent. My Son recently got a job at Publix (a supermarket) and it's very similar. They offer great incentives and further education for Publix employees. I always tell the young ones to get an entry level job for a good Company. Do your job and there's nowhere to go but up.

Yeah, I'm all for that. In the past, I said that Trump doesn't need to wall off Mexico, just wall off the Pacific Coast states and put up a sign along the California/Mexico board that says, "Everyone is welcome, come on in!"
