One of the core arguments against all this is that the current pathway essentially destroys all the gains made for women's rights and women's advocacy through Title IX. Since that discussion point is essentially indefensible from the position of the activist radical left, the majority of the MSM will refuse to cover it. 

A fair distinction is that biological males participating in women's/girl's sports is a form of cultural terrorism though state sanctioned open misogyny. 

That issue has far more nuance than you've ever shown here in these forums with your posts. You don't care, so don't care. The problem is that these are the kinds of issues that lose elections down the ticket, and when you keep losing elections, you will see public policy enacted later that could be even MORE punitive, from the perspective of some, against LGBT rights. 

70 percent of all American adults, by projections, are parents. You can't go to war with parents and win. You can't go to war with the working class and win. 

Biden, not just Biden by the entire Team Blue apparatus, is taking savage hits from voting blocks that compromise working class minorities. People who are immigrants or kids in the 1st/2nd/3rd generation in this country, there is a specific main focus and driver for education for their children. They might tolerate a lot otherwise, but not anything that will harm their children and the ancillary opportunities that come from increased education. 

It's winning small battles to lose the war. 

The overall LGBT community, by the raw numbers, is still very small against the aggregate of the total US population. When you don't have the numbers, you can't afford to have engagement that loses you masses of elections for those that might support your causes. It's not just bad politics, it's also bad policy and a total abandonment of any kind of common sense.

Because that's not the 'trend.' 

I can't imagine anyone pretending to be the opposite sex for sports knowing that they will have to take hormones and other things that make them sterile and grow boobs. Seems like a stretch to "fake" being trans just to win in swimming or some crap and still never make it to the Olympics. 

The fact also is that trans women competing in the "real" women's field creates an advantage towards the trans-women. If you believe it or not, they are stronger, faster, taller, etc. Having their own category lets them level their own field; if no one enters, then maybe it's not about them leveling their own field and competing against those like them.

OK, this makes sense, I can see this being the case, and it jives with what Lia Thomas has said as well.

For the record I'm not down with this, there should be some sort of rules in place to prevent "dudes" from excelling in women's sports.  I don't know what the rules are, but I think we'd all agree that who cares if some little femboy decides to run girls track in HS and finish in the middle of the pack, vs the dude that benches 200 and runs a sub 5:00 mile that throws on a wig to get to the girls state championship.

One of my BFFs is a lesbian and I hang out with her and her lesbian friends frequently. they really strongly dislike the trans movement, the "gender queer" types of labels, etc. Because it really does make them feel like they no longer matter in that world. It's all about gay men or trans women. Lesbians are kind of on their own.

Who competes in the trans women category? Other trans women, aka biological males. They are still essentially competing against other males, they have NO advantage. I am not saying that this is the ONLY reason they want to complete in bio-female categories, however they are probably less likely to win against other trans women. Especially if their hormone levels are all at specific levels determined by the sport...BUT...you have one dude that started transitioning in his teens vs the one in his 20s..and the one in his 20s will already have SOME biological advantage. They are still (in the most basic sense) bio-men competing against bio-men. They just call themselves women. 

This isn't really difficult to understand from my perspective. 

They can call themselves the giraffe category, who gives a fock. 

It's about strength, speed, fitness, muscle, height, weight...you put someone naturally bigger and stronger against someone who isn't and you know who is going to win. This is why for years and years bio men have been faster and stronger than bio females...across nearly EVERY sport. 

It's like the Lia Thomas/Riley Gains thing. Lia Thomas is 6'1". Riley Gains is 5'9". Take away everything else, and Lia already has an advantage in the pool. Lia went from 555th in mens swimming to 36th in women's. Lia isn't going to want to complete with other trans-females and go back to being mid to back of the pack. Would you?
