Impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden begins- over Hunter Biden

In response to Congress’ subpoena, Hunter Biden has agreed to testify, but only if it’s public so that the American people can see it and the House members can’t manipulate his testimony. Naturally Republicans refuse. “This won’t stand” says Comer.

Once again the House Republicans look ridiculous.

I am on the fence here, but I submit that if the defendant requests this it should be given serious weight.   If any defendant asks for public exposure of their proceedings, they should get just that.

On the fence? It should be clear even to you that the only reason Comer won’t agree to this is that it prevents them from lying about his testimony.

Agree. But I also detest the act of displaying it like some production.....but again, if the defendant wants it i think that should be what matters.  When I look at the dastardly things done to Trump I relly look upon these proceedings with contempt.  I would not trust ANY of them.....

If Hunter is allowed to testify publicly about his personal issues with drugs, it’s only going to make the public sympathetic to Joe Biden, because millions of Americans have family members with similar issues. Now if they can prove corruption by Joe that’s a different story. But so far they don’t have the evidence.

If Trump had wanted to testify publicly before the Jan 6 committee they would have welcomed him immediately- imagine the ratings! Of course Trump would never have done so. He’s terrified to testify under oath anywhere  and rightly so.

Sympathetic.  Cause he can't walk without tripping. Can't speak without tripping up. Can't bike without falling. Not many people are sympathetic to a rich kid with drug issues.

If "I" were Trump I would have a healthy fear of this as well.  If what is happening to Trump were visited upon you I submit that you would also have a justified right to be afraid.  I hope it never happens to you, but that might be the only way you ever see it for what it actually is.

Now, back to Hunter, if he wants it public I say go for it....I think he is batsh!t crazy for wanting that, but I personally would welcome it.

Zero education or skill?

lol, the alt right media must be on the blink, cause no one is this dumb.

Tell you what, post up your education level attained, the schools you went to, and your work career.

I'll do the same with Hunter and we'll see who's got no education or skills.

Damn this place is the worst.  I think y'all are believing your own stupid lies now.

Education.   Bigly bigly bigly not educated.

He spent his first year of college at the University of Pennsylvania, then enrolled in Georgetown University in 1988, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history in 1992. After graduation, he moved on to Portland, Oregon, and he served in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, where he met Kathleen Buhle. Three months into their relationship, Buhle became pregnant; the two were married in July 1993, and their daughter Naomi King Biden was born in December. They had two more daughters: Finnegan, born in 1998, and Maisy, born in 2000. To complete his education, Biden enrolled in Georgetown Law. After his first year there, he transferred to Yale Law School, where he completed his degree in 1996.

I mean the dude wasn't as accomplished as a casino manager, but this isn't too shabby.

Career

Hunter Biden and his family returned to Wilmington, Delaware, where he had begun working as a lawyer and consultant with MBNA America, a bank holding company, and he quickly rose to the rank of executive vice president.  Hunter Biden left MBNA in 1998 to serve in the Commerce Department under Pres. Bill Clinton, handling e-commerce policy. In 2001 he cofounded the lobbying firm of Oldaker, Biden & Belair. The firm lobbied on a variety of issues, including online gambling. Hunter Biden stopped lobbying when his father became Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate in 2008.

Just LOL at the MAGAtard devotion.  Very very very feminine.

This.

I can't imagine being so devote to a party where once a person was tagged "of that party" that they would lose all rational thought, morals and logic just to defend that person.

Fine.  Be a liberal.  But to defend a person who's brains are mush and can't walk or talk?   I firmly believe that if there was video of Biden with his the thumb up a 5 year little boy's ass, that the liberal constituents would all start looking at each other, nodding and saying "yep...yes...that kid needed that to make him a better person....for sure... absolutely" as they they continued to watch with gleaming eyes.

I don’t know you highlighted this piece of craps illustrious career comparing it against the Trump kids. So which job did he hold that he obtained due to merit? I’ll hang up and listen.

When one so willfully uses embarrassing and infantile debate tactics I'm going to call it out.

The choad here is you my friend.  You introduced a 3rd party that was mentioned by no one.  I merely laughed at MAGAtards and their love for Bannon, you know, the dude he mentioned in the post?

Try to be better friend.

The media you read is so full of crap and your conclusions show how easily you are manipulated.   A deposition is standard process to gather facts prior to the testimony in court or in this case in front of Congress.  The Republicans have supeonaed Hunter to  require Hunter to show up for both the deposition and the public testimony.  It is not an either/or menu option for the witness to select.   The Repiblicans want both as is their right.  Hunter does not want to cooperate.

So as usual, your government-puppet media you worship at the alter of, is spinning the facts.  The New York Times/CNN/MSNBC all know the purpose of the deposition, and instead of being honest, they let Hunter's lawyers spin stand unquestioned and only provide half the story so their followers will be in lockstep with their agenda.  "OH those evil Republicans".   It is so ridiculous that you completely trust those lying bastards.

How about Jarvanka setting some foreign policy?  I don't believe you cried about that.

At least Hunter, POS that he is, isn't officially setting US policy like the dimwit Trump relatives did.

Yuck

Umm no. Republicans haven’t agreed to any public testimony. They claim they will agree to it “at a future date.” They don’t want him to testify publicly. Apparently neither do you.

It’s pretty amazing- for months now you guys have demanded transparency in this Hunter Biden story. You KNOW there’s corruption, that Joe Biden committed an impeachable offense. And now Hunter is willing to testify publicly and the answer is no it has to be behind closed doors?? Good luck trying to sell that to anyone other than the true believers.

Having closed door depositions before having public testimony is a standard practice when there are many unknown facts that need to be discovered.  The GOP is not denying Hunter the opportunity to testify public, but they want a deposition prior to the testimony, as is their right.   The government media is telling half the story here.

Ok.  I am fine with that.  I am also fine with Hunter getting his way on this. I am mainly highlighting the lack of integrity among those who happily allow mistreatment of their political opponents while they insist those they agree with be treated fairly
