One is illegal, the other isnt.  One is theft, the other isnt.  Some like to say its copywrite infringement, but that requires you take possession of something too.  Fun Fact: Nobody has ever been arrested or charged for watching a stream, because it's not illegal.

My cousin got letters from his IP provider for steaming illegal and got a VPN and letters stopped.

I bet he was downloading.  Which is copyright infringement.  The torrent downloaders keep track and post IP addresses for everyone to see, which is fixed by using a VPN.  

How long ago was this? The RRIA and MPAA had an agreement, maybe even legislation I forget, with the internet service providers to do that because the internet service providers refused to give up and rat on their customers.  But that was like 10+ years ago and expired.

About a year ago and maybe he was doing that too and didn't tell me, I knew he was streaming free sh!t. I know how to do the Kodi and other stuff as well but don't do it much. Back in the early 2,000 I was one of the first couple thousands that was downloading movies and also knew how to convert them and etc.

You know what is illegal? Creating a monopoly.  Which is what the NFL and DirecTV did for decades in North America.  Did you know that if you lived (or just used a VPN) in Europe you could buy all the games from the NFL for a fraction of the cost of Sunday Ticket?  

What really makes me mad about these companies is they pushed cable and satellite TV for years and years after it was antiquated. Mostly elderly people, and a bunch to this day have no idea that there are affordable streaming options.  They were told that cable was their only option.  

But hey, there are others too, like you, that just bend over and take it.

The last time I got something off newsgroups was for hacking the original xbox.  Actually soldered in new chips to run firmware that would download a blockbuster game to the hard drive.  The firmware was obviously illegal and hard to find.

Oh got ya and I had to convert Avi files to mpeg at first and then later people would put them on the groups already converted.

Not the rest of us.  I haven't watched a full NFL game in about a decade.   I just find it odd when people complain about a product but still watch it, or when $6 is a breaking point for people.
