Anyone getting Peacock for the Chiefs game?

Not the rest of us.  I haven't watched a full NFL game in about a decade.   I just find it odd when people complain about a product but still watch it, or when $6 is a breaking point for people.

It's not about just $6. It's streaming in general, can't pause or rewind or switch back and forth between channels. I don't want Peacock and it's an inconvenience to add it and cancel. Fock them. NBC could show the game but they're trying to push their pay service instead. Again, fock NBC.

Why is CBS showing a replay now of the Chiefs and Bengals playoff game from a couple years back ?

Wasn’t the Bills game supposed to be played in that time slot?

If this thread is a barometer, I'd guess the peacock experiment probably worked.  A lot of folks saying just pay the $6, so that's probably what the public did.

Another point is nbc doesn't care about old people.  They want people that don't care about spending $6 a month.  If you think about it, if I'm some nbc exec, I'd be in there saying, "these people are shaming other people for not spending money on something they have already been getting.  These are the exact people you want to advertise to."

Big shocker a company behind the most popular sport by far in the country would try to get extra $ to watch the product.

The bolded is a sign you are watching a bad product in the first place.  Sorry for the huge inconvenience of having to click a couple buttons to watch a game.  Thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.  ;)

I dont get it. I would think -7 is more dangerous than 20 and snowing.

Like they care about safety that much more than $.  They probably made the calculations that fewer people could get to the stadium during snow than bitter cold and the move made sense financially.

I think inches of snow an hour and 70K people trying to get to the same spot is a bit of a problem that is best to avoid 😄

It's a little easier to travel to the game in cold vs feet of snow🤣🤣🤣

And you can pause, rewind on streaming games.  They give you the big plays and multiple broadcasts.  Better experience.

I thought the same, but didn't feel like fighting about that.  I watch EPL on Peacock, and thought I had those options for that.

Yea but just stupid to air a rerun game and don't they have some sh!ty college basketball game to put in it;s place if needed ? Apparently not and reminds me of Lockdown when there was no sports and they would broadcast old sports games.

I would think more people tuning in to watch an NFL playoff game would stick around longer for an NFL game than a shitty college basketball game.

HDMI button on your remote.  Takes about a half a second to get to your channels so you can surf the Guide with your clicker.

To add Peacock...it takes about 3 minutes.  To cancel it...it takes about 1 and a half minutes.  You can even do it the same day.  You might be able to do it as soon as you sign up.

I make more (usually) every Saturday betting UFC than you spend on your wife's Christmas present.  🤣🤣🤣

Wife's again?  When your bikini model wifey sees you tonight, take your two front pockets and turn them inside out so they show and unzip your fly, and ask her if she’s ever kissed a rabbit between the ears. When she smiles, you’re  welcome.🥕

I understand that, but it's at least the same product as people were tuning into watch, so I'd think more would stick around vs a random basketball game.

They probably don't care where the ratings came from, just that it was likely to be more than your idea of airing a shitty college basketball game netted.

They air a lot of those sh!ty college bb games on weekends and why I mentioned them and they must do good on them. Probably couldn't get one at last minute so aired the rerun game and figure that would get some ratings. Anyhow Rats arse.

I have a Plasma TV so it's not a Smart TV so not sure I can add streaming; maybe I can through the Cable/DVR box.

Oh, I do connect my laptop using HDMI to the big Plasma TV and stream that way. It worked pretty good for this Chiefs game.

That's true.

In the beginning though it was for a bunch of extra cable only channels in addition to the VHF and UHF frequencies.  You paid the premium for for all the extra channels.  OTA TV was slow to catch up so pretty soon for the vast majority of people cable or dish were your only options.  The cable companies became a monopoly of an industry and past time that the majority of the population used everyday.  And they used to be able to enjoy it for free, paid for solely by the commercials. Now you're paying twice (subscription and commercials) and sometimes a third time (hidden fees).

The secret they want to keep you from learning is that once the signals became digitized, and internet speed surpassed video size, cable technology is obsolete.  Now it's our turn. We're going to watch TV for free again and this time without commercials (besides live).

@Ron_Artest

Remember the stalker TonyLoser flaying away trying to justify stealing because he can't afford a $7 stream?

Nothing has changed...

LMFAO

I went and got Peacock just for football. I haven't turned it on otherwise. If fact, I couldn't tell you one show or series they have. Same with Amazon.

I like Peacock, watched some good shows.  Traitors, Deal or No Deal Island, Chucky, Below Deck, King of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond.  Watching a show now about apples falling from trees that is good.

https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-fans-us-must-pay-162401014.html

NFL fans in US must pay $1,600 a year to watch every game after Netflix addition

Viewers will need a cable or YouTube TV subscription as well as Sunday Ticket, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, ESPN+, NFL+ and Netflix.

Cord-cutting fans will need to subscribe to all seven services to get access to the entire 2024 NFL slate, with a price tag about $1,600 based on last season’s pricing and Netflix’s current cheapest offering. That figure does not include the cost of an internet service necessary to run a streaming-only option. According to OpenVault, the average price Americans paid for internet service in 2022 was $64 a month. That will push the total outlay over $2,000 to cover the NFL’s regular season, playoffs and Super Bowl.

It will be even more expensive for cable subscribers, who will still need to subscribe to NFL+, ESPN+, Peacock, Amazon Prime and Netflix on top of their cable subscription to be able to watch the league in its entirety. Four streaming platforms will have exclusive games in 2024.

I'm fine with the $7.99 cost to get NFL Network so that I can watch RedZone.  I'd be ok with a small fee to just watch the Bucs.  Don't care about other teams/games.

I tried to watch the new Yankees Doc mini series called Bronx Zoo 90 Crime Chaos and Baseball. Commercials every focking 2 minutes on Peacock. Guess it shows who's paying their bills and isn't the subscribers.
