The organization polled members of America’s 1 per cent – defined as people who have a postgraduate degree and an annual income of more than $150,000. 73% considered themselves Democrats.

77 per cent of elitists who were asked, “To fight climate change, would you favor or oppose the strict rationing of gas, meat and electricity?” said they would favor such a policy.

That figure rises even higher to 89 per cent amongst Ivy League graduates.

 69 per cent of elitists want an immediate ban on gas stoves, while 81 per cent want gas powered vehicles outlawed.

A majority also want the government to forbid the use of air conditioning and non-essential air travel, effectively outlawing vacations.

67 per cent of elitists also believe that teachers should decide what children are taught compared to 26 per cent who think parents should decide.

The poll also reveals how the elite are totally at odds with the general public in both lifestyle and beliefs.

When canvassed on how much freedom the United States should bestow on its citizens, 47 per cent said people had too much freedom compared to 21 per cent who said there was too much control.

In comparison, 57 per cent of voters said there was too much control compared to 16 per cent who said there was too much freedom.

74 per cent say their finances are getting better, while just 20 per cent of the general public say the same.

Best part -

A majority of the elites and super elites also trust the government to do the right thing and approve of Joe Biden by a whopping 83%.

If the poll is accurate then I’m in the minority for sure. Based on education and income I’m one of the elite and I vote Democrat. But I don’t have any contempt at all for working people and I don’t want to restrict them at all. And there are ways to fight climate change without these restrictions, hence my opposition to a large part of the Green New Deal.

What I take from it is something we all know already: that wealthy people are frequently out of touch with the cold, hard realities of living on a tight budget. Along with their income and education comes a haughtiness and feelings of superiority. "Good for thee but not for me." You see it right here in the thread.

Hung out with lots of plumbers and electricians.  Usually pretty smart people with nice families and very happy.   Of course the worst group tended to be floorers, who would make big bucks on a job, and then disappear for a few weeks until they ran out of drug money.   Some of the stupidest people I know, were highly 'educated' people, who don't have an ounce of common sense or ability to rationally think.  Education level is not the best indicator of smarts.   But in the end, this is why the principle of America was so much better than the rest of the world, because we were the first to view people as equal.
