Going To My First Spring Training GameTomorrow

 My lady is a die hard Yankees Fan. We’re leaving tonight st midnight and driving straight to Tampa to watch the Yankees/Blue Jays at 1:00. Then heading to our hotel at DVC Rivera Resort in Orlando.I like to drive at night. Going back Monday to see the Blue Jays. Really can’t wait. I’ve only been to one MLB game in my life and it was a Royals exhibition game in the Super Dome. Think it was against the Pirates and I was very young.  Brett was catching fly balls in the outfield behind his back. I tried once soon after that and tried it, ended up with stitches on my head.

I'm taking my son, his fiancé, FIL, and the wife down for a couple of days in Mid-March to see 3 O's game.  Staying on Anna Maria Island.

Did you buy your tix ahead of time or are you buying them at the gate. 

And you'll save tons of money driving.  I looked for days and the best flight I could come up with from Baltimore to Tampa was $600 each roundtrip.

 About eight to nine hours from Nawlins. Straight shot down I-10 to I-75. My lady has a heavy foot.

 She got them at Stub Hub in mid January. She’s very picky about where she sits. She got tickets behind home plate eleven rows back. And the second game is the Twins, not the Blue Jays. Got a great deal.

When I lived in St. Pete the new yorkers were like cockroaches in that city when the yankees came to town. I went to an opening day game for the Rays vs. yankees. Rays won. There was some really fun trash talking after that game.

Peoria is probably fairly convenient from Yuma, since it is on the west side.

Also, I'm going to two games next week:  Padres at DBacks on Tuesday, and Cubs at DBacks on Friday.  For the latter, lots of people escaped the hellhole that is Chicago to live here, so it should be a lively game.  Might get a brawl to throw down with some retired midwesterners over a meaningless practice game.

 What a great experience. It was a great experience. Place was completely packed and everyone was very nice. A lot of fun and can’t wait for tomorrow. What a day. And couldn’t ask for better weather.

 Thirty minutes away from the park for today’s game. Can’t wait. Growing up I was A somewhat Pirates fan. New Orleans is not a baseball town except for LSU.
