I think he’s competent now. He just has more trouble than ever expressing it. But I have no doubt that he’s of sound mind and his effectiveness as President has been extraordinary.

I think he's operating at somewhere around 78-85% normally. Call it 78% at the debate, 85% during the Stephanopoulos interview.

Another day goes by and Joe didn't quit.

Time is on his side and he holds the cards. If he plays for time long enough, he'll call their bluff.

The Dems'll have their convention and he'll make his push during the home stretch when it matters most. Who knew Trump would come back after the "Grab 'em by the pu$$y" fiasco.

I wasn’t insulting you. I was just stating a fact. It doesn’t have to be a permanent fact. Offer some opinion for once. A fresh thought. You’ll notice I disagree with @Mark Davis and @Voltaire and many others around here but I never call them stupid. Because they’re not. They engage in thoughtful discussion. They don’t spend 100% of their posts attacking other people.

Who knows? Maybe behind the stupid posts and constant personal attacks there is a sharp incisive mind. I would have no way of knowing.

Incisive?

incisive /ĭn-sī′sĭv/

adjective

  1. Penetrating, clear, and sharp, as in operation or expression.
    "an incisive mind; incisive comments."
  2. Having the quality of incising, cutting, or penetrating, as with a sharp instrument; cutting.
    Similar: cutting
  3. Of or pertaining to the incisors; incisor.
    "the incisive bones, the premaxillaries"

I think you meant to use another word there, possibly insightful.

Yeah, Timmy...it is getting late to the point that I don't think Biden quitting is going to happen.

I honestly thought it might be this weekend, perhaps Sunday or Monday. He’s weathered the storm longer than I thought he would. I still don’t discount tomorrow or Monday he folds.

Perhaps not losing to Trump is what is best for the country? I certainly think so.

So if the polls say he was winning you would still support Biden?

I think the belief that Biden cannot win is what did it.   Biden's mental decline was on display for the public to see for years.

I don’t understand your question. Why would polls affect who I support?

If the polls said that Biden would beat Trump by 15% in every swing state would you want him to drop out with everything else being as they are now?

No of course not. The only reason I want him to leave is because I’m concerned about his chances to win. I’m personally not concerned about how he will continue to perform as President.

It's the honest answer and about what we figured.

This can go on until the Convention starts.

Not realistically. Couldn't Biden just ask his pledged delegates to support Harris and that would be the end of it?

Is he even coherent enough to let it bother him?  Once the talker leaves the room he forgets what they were blabbing about.  Then another talker comes in and makes him MAD by telling him to drop out.  Then they go away and so do his thoughts?

Not really. I would like to see Biden step aside but if he doesn’t I’ll continue to support him.

And that's the problem........you would rather sink with the titanic, playing with the band on deck until you drown....rather than do what is right.

Know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, know when to run....

Well you’re free to believe whatever you want, but I can tell you that’s not what did it for me. Sure I knew he was 80 and not as vigorous as even ten years ago but I thought he was still with it. SOTU earlier this same year he did pretty well so I figured he still had it.

Then I realized that, like most dementia patients, he apparently has good days and bad. And the bad are not acceptable for a president, and will only become more frequent.

Even if he could win this year, he shouldn’t.

Now neither should Trump, but I was never ever going to vote for him anyways.

It’s amazing that liberals don’t hold Obama accountable for bringing about Trump. Trump won because Obama voters flipped. Obama gave the most unifying speech a generation had ever heard in 2004 and when he got in the White House he set out  to divide.  True story.

Historical fact.

Then Trump made life better for everybody in America and brought peace to the world.

Then China unleashed covid.

The debate is what put the nail in the coffin (whoops, sorry for the dangerous rhetoric) of the polls

Disagree.  If Obama could have run for a third term he likely wins.  Trump won because he said he was going to “drain the swamp” and people didn’t like “Crooked Hillary.”

I keep thinking that the D's can't make things worse, then the next day happens.

This is the Story of Every Day for the last three weeks. Donors want him out, Team Biden refuses to go, Dems in the Executive and Legislative branch are caught in the middle.

Time is on Team Biden's side. If Biden refuses to go, he can call their bluff and white-knuckle them back in line. Holding out long enough means that eventually either the Convention or the early, pre-Convention telephone call will confirm him as the nominee. In the mean time, all the critics can do is screech like banshees. Their message has been delivered and received. Biden has told them 'no' a thousand times but they're trying to wear him out. This weekend looks to be the high water mark with the pressure is turned up to 11. Maybe I don't have enough creativity and imagination but I cannot see how it can get any more intense.

We'll see if Biden pushes through yet again. The man is stubborn as all hell which surprises me. I'd thought he was just grass, walk on him and see him blow in the breeze.

He knows. We all saw George Stephanopoulos twist himself into a pretzel, begging Biden 1000 different ways on TV to resign and he handled the situation. Peak Biden performance is 85%, good enough to be aware of what's going on. He was halting and slow but completing his sentences and thoughts and overall, in charge of his faculties during that interview.

Pelosi and Schumer have now done the same thing privately, they have thrown the kitchen sink at him, and may or may not have gotten the same result. Biden is allegedly mulling over the situation. We'll see if this weekend rolls over with no change and if campaign events scheduled for next week are undertaken. Hopefully its like you say and Biden listens to the last person in the room, because those are Jill and Hunter re-enforcing his decision to stay in. From what I've seen though, I think he's still capable of making this decision personally.

I get it.  Different for everyone. Fox has been focusing on Biden' problems all along so that is why some people are amazed that others did not see it sooner.  Other channels do the same with Trump and I think that is why everything is so divided.

This is certainly the way many conservatives perceive it, ignoring the fact that Trump’s first political move upon Obama being elected was to question Obama’s birth legitimacy: a racist attack.

Here’s how others see it, including me: white conservatives were freaked out by the fact of Obama’s election, not by anything Obama did (Obama governed as a centrist.) They were freaked out because they fear that very shortly for the first time in American history, white people will no longer be a majority. This is the same fear that is the root of the transformation of the GOP to anti-immigration, isolationism, nativism, anti-trade, anti-globalism, etc. It was the fear of a black and brown majority that brought about Donald Trump.

I don't know if you saw it, but I posted a clip from 2016 where a woman says she's scared of Obama because he's an Arab.  McCain quickly corrected the woman and said Obama is a decent man.

FF to trump, and he took that bigotry and hatred and said yes, you should be afraid of him, and fomented that bigotry and hatred from those years into today's Republican party.

Exactly.
Though I will add that as much as I always admired John McCain for making that correction, I wish he had added that even if Obama had been an Arab or a Muslim, there would have been nothing wrong with that, and that would not have made him less decent.

I'm a conservative, know plenty more & that is not how we perceive it.  Trump movement is putting America first.  That is not racist however you try to paint it.  Liberals get in a jam & always pull the race card.  been this way since Obama was elected since it was an easy, peasy comeback for Dems rather than argue the point.  Criticize an Obama policy=RACISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is America not  first today?  What other country has Biden placed over America?

You're just repeating a catch phrase.
