The Dems put all that in place because they thought that Trump would at least b!tch about it, and perhaps even decline outright......they guess wrong.

I submit that the Dems assumed they could create such a hostile situation for Trump that he would back out and then Biden would not have to debate at all....and they could pretend that it was Trump being afraid or incapable...

When Trump accepted....I bet you could have heard a pin drop in that campaign room

I guess my initial thought was that Biden isn’t forced to do a debate. I almost took it as in OK will do it, but it’s going to be under these rules type thing? 
 

I mean these kinds of rules aren’t new to Trump so I doubt he called some bluff.

Oh somebody is responsible all right. That somebody is Trump for instructing Republicans to kill Lankford’s immigration deal that would have given us border security finally. He ordered it killed so that he could use the issue in the election. 

It’s also quite bigoted to blame the actions of a tiny handful of bad people on millions of undocumented immigrants, the vast majority of who commit no violent crimes whatsoever. I surmise you think this is true.....but that is what the Democrats want you to think, but it is not true.  The biggest reason these things are happening, along with the widespread explosion of the immigration issue, was Biden reversing Trump policies and inviting the immigration.   That is where the blame is, passing that legislation would have done nothing.....worse, it would have impeded common sense changes later to really halt immigration.

I cannot stress enough that it is fine to be compassionate and such, but not at the expense of our nation.

I disagree with this. The state of the economy / inflation is killing Biden. Trump would be a lock if he could stay under the radar and stick to MAGA rallies the next few months.
