Lie.  It was clearly mocking the Last Supper.  The hair color, costumes, even the poses match.  But keep trying Leftist troll.

Rusty thinks he’s smart enough to pull off that dance move.  He’s not.

Only right-wing religious zealots are turning that scene into mocking Jesus.

First off, it was depicting A PAINTING, and the painting it depicted was the Feast of Dionysus, not the last supper.

Just plug "bacchanal paiting" into Google, and you'll get a whole bunch of paintings of people feasting at tables.

A painting yes, but it was clearly The Last Supper.

I like how he tried to pass it off like he came up with that and wasn't regurgitating someone else's thoughts.

Look at the tone... Like you're just so stupid if you don't know it's Dionysus.  Like he even knew what the Feast of Dionysus was until it got filtered down to him through Twitter.

Unlike you, I'm smart enough to actually research things before popping off with some uninformed opinion.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13680627/Paris-Olympics-opening-ceremony-Christian-supper-da-vinci-dionysus.html

Quote

French actor and singer Phillippe Katerine was playing the role of the Greek god of wine Dionysus ...

They were not depicting The Last Supper, and even if they were, they would be depicting a painting da Vinci created like 1,500 years after Jesus walked the Earth.

Myriad paintings from centuries ago depict people feasting at a table.

Of course, the evangelical right has its collective chastity belt in a wad in its never-ending desire to look like a martyr and find something over which to proselytize.

I don't follow Twitter. As I said, focus all that know-it-all smarminess on actually researching something instead of assuming that a depiction of an ancient painting is The Last Supper instead of a bazillion other ancient paintings of people feasting around tables.

Yeah, that was great insight that there are a lot of paintings with people eating.  It was probably just them doing Dogs Eating Christmas Dinner.

As a bonus in the same post you contradict yourself.  Ok you assert it's Feast of Dionysus and then say there are lots of paintings of people eating.  So which would it be then?  It's Dionysus or some random painting of people having brunch?  In other words, you're shotgunning because in usual geek club fashion, you want to be right instead of get it right.

So yeah, you're useful

What research do you have that it's a depiction of The Last Supper other than what you've seen from the far righties you follow on social media and on infotainment sources?

Some simple research outside of that would point you to it being a depiction of the Feast of Dionysus, complete with the dude in blue actually depicting Dionysus himself.

My point being:

1.) It's a depiction of the Feast of Dionysus.

2.) Even if it weren't, one could point to myriad other ancient paintings other than The Last Supper that they could have been depicting in the opening ceremonies.

I don't recall Trannies or dudes with their ballls hanging in front of Kids being in those paintings you mentioned.

I'm sure you prefer this depiction though 🌈

It was a depiction of The Last Supper turning into a Bacchanalia, who is about as insulting as it gets.  And yes, the cast members even knew it was a depiction of the last supper.

Piche, a drag queen who performed in the scene, has made it clear that they knew they were depicting the Last Supper:

"The idea is to bring a new perspective. In the past, there have been a lot of representations of the apostles' table and it never shocked anyone."

This Peacock coverage is amazing. The app is still clunky for me but you can pretty much watch any event.

Women’s surfing in Tahiti. Nice!

Not that Paris wouldn’t be sweet to work but I wonder how the production crews split up who got to cover Surfing. What a gig!

If you highlight the article I originally linked to you can translate it from within the browser.  Here’s what he said:

“The idea is to bring a new perspective. We don't make a fool of anything," says Piche, a drag queen revealed by the show Drag Race who participated in the sequence. No one was dressed as Jesus, no one parodied him, neither in their outfits nor in their behavior. The idea is to bring a new perspective. In the past, there have been a lot of representations of the apostles' table and it has never shocked anyone. As luck would have it, when it's LGBT and drag, it's disturbing. But we're used to it. People are obsessed with gender issues that bother conservatives.”

I'm right. Those seeking butt hurt are more apt to find or create it, and you and your ilk are no exception.

Other countries don't laugh at the liberal aspects of our society. They laugh at MAGA, a worldwide ideological joke. That was the Feast of Dionysus, and no volume of lame memes and X posts will disprove that. Grow a brain, one that can think for itself.

“Yeah, you know, the feast of Doinysus. You never heard of it?”. Rusty actually expects people to believe he was aware of it before yesterday.  Lol. Leftists get fed bullshitt and they love it.
