I think we are unfortunately in a two tiered economy . It may be a recession for the dumbest/poorest of us Americans. But the rest of us are doing fine. (Shrugs) every restaurant/store i go to here in CA is packed.  People are out and about having fun.   But i know its a big country.

If the futures stay where they're at now, going to be another bloody day on Wall Street tomorrow. On the other hand, for those of you who think the federal reserve should coddle the markets by lowering rates back to zero (where they bottomed in late 2021) you might want to consider this.

Japan is a country that thought zero interest rates were the way to go long-term. The Nikkei average, the equivalent to our Dow Jones average, peaked at just under 39K in late 1989.
