I dont believe many fence voters want illegals here in droves being handed everything like they are American citizens.  

But at same time I dont think illegals and that whole ordeal is what they would vote on mostly.  

So many.. they see white guy and dont care about his love of handing out things to illegals.  So maybe it works.  

Im not sure how a state like Minnesota is so liberal.  You get one or 2 big cities in these states that dictate it all.   Most dont know how to start a lawnmower.  Republicans come in far and wide within states.  Dems control the group think cities.  Its telling.

I have been to Minneapolis probably 6 times since Covid times ended. Fantastic city. Very cool downtown area.

As a visitor, Target’s HQ which is in downtown core (along with other businesses down there I’m sure) slowly returning to office had far more impact to downtown area than riots. Last trip there had a down day and downtown was very active patio bars packed, lots of people out and about. 

I don’t know the city well enough to know where rioting occurred though TBH.

I have listened to Walz comments on this since everything this guy has said is now very much in the public eye. He admonished rioting, was telling people this was doing nothing but hurting your community, while he was also acknowledging that people just watched a civilian slowly murdered by a cop and that was focked. Seemed reasonable to me.

Most of the rioting was in the south east side of Minneapolis (East Lake St).  Always was a shitty area because of the light rail.  The far-west portion of the damage was about 10 blocks away from the popular Uptown area. That is the nightlife section for the young 20 something's. Lots of rooftop patios and bars.  All few of the retail in that part of town was hit with smash and grab stuff.

But the area that burned was/is a heavy Latino/Native/Somali area.  Those poorer communities suffered the most.
