I’m reading that McCarthy, having been fired by Dallas, might be heading to Chicago. Thats certainly an improvement on what they had, but it’s not the dynamic coach that I think Caleb needs.

I'm betting against McCarthy. I don't rule anyone out, as it is the Bears, but they are actually interviewing 20 different guys for the job including Pete Carroll and a couple college coaches. I think they just want to hear what ideas all these guys have on how they would fix the culture of the team. I think the favorites are Johnson, Monken, Brady, at this point, but who knows? They can't even meet in person with Johnson, etc.. until after the teams are out of the playoffs or play in the superbowl.

I watched the first round of the draft and Williams looked pretty freaking happy on stage with the Bears hat on. He even came up with his own little Bear hand gesture bear claw thing.

This was debunked by several coaches and players.  Caleb is a liar that wouldnt put the work in.  Meanwhile they all rave about thr backup QB from Sheppard College.  Some vets wanted Caleb benched last year after the NE game.

Bagent has a good arm on him...  I know DII isn't the NFL (well maybe in the Bears case it is), but he did set a lot of records in DII and for Shepard College...

According to people that were there last season, he is great in the huddle, knows all the protections inside and out, comes to the meetings.  Where Caleb would blow off a protection meeting with the OL, be a mute in meetings and not pay attention, and goes blank when in the huddle.

Caleb missed some throws to be sure but I thought he looked decent last night. He had one fantastic sidearm throw to Rome that reminded me of Mahomes.

He’s got happy feet in the pocket but it’s hard to blame him when the Vikes kept driving the OL into his lap on every snap.

He looked ok. He moves well, but missed a few throws badly. Outplayed by a rookie on the road in his first start.

Caleb wasnt horrendous.   But was not good either.   I question whether some of you know what you are watching.

A better QB than Caleb easily wins that game.  Missed wide open receivers on critical 3rd downs.  Missed chunk plays by misreading the play which is a cardinal sin.  DangeRuss got run out of Denver for not taking chunk plays when available (among other things).

Caleb made some amazing plays and looked great at some points of the game.  At other points he looked clueless and threw some terrible passes.  If he can clean things up and improve each week, he'll be fine.  The OL looked better, although the false starts were ridiculous.

The officiating against the Bears was atrocious.  There were a couple calls that directly led to the Bears losing the game.

He obviously had some good throws and extended some plays with his legs (so did Fields when he was in Chicago). He will likely improve as the season goes along, but idk about praising him for a great throw to Odunze on the sideline and stuff like that. He's a #1 overall pick. He should be able to make some fantastic throws. I think it's way more important that the floor of his game gets raised as opposed to seeing very occasional flashes of the ceiling.

I can see his built in talent.  I already questioned if a golden boy who got by on sheer talent and probably grew up with endless yes men would pan out.  But after what has come to light on him, it is all about his ego and laziness.  Ben Johnson wont put up with it.  If he drops the ego and manufactures a good work ethic, he could be fine.  Bears fans certainly wont have the "coaches are bad" excuse this time around.
