Terrible.

Been to maybe 5 hockey games in my life, can name maybe 10 players, but saw him in Calgary and he stood out so would check his stats every once and awhile.

I am a CBJ fan.  So fast on the ice and an assist machine.  Best player on the team.  Great community guy too.  Lots of heartbroken kids today. #13 was very popular around the rinks.  Very sad situation.

Man. Just an awful story.

That is what I remember from the game, he was so much quicker than everyone (and looked tiny) was fun to watch him skate through all the chaos with such skill.

Sad, but ever pass bikers on the side of the road and think 'they have WAY more faith in humanity than I do.'  Drunk drivers, Stoned drivers, texting drivers, teenage drivers, idiot drivers, bad drivers, etc. You're willing to risk your life and health hoping strangers don't do stupid stuff?  Seriously?  Well then good luck to ya.

I tell my teenage daughter - ALWAYS ride on the sidewalk. I don't care what the law says. If there's no sidewalk, then you don't ride your bike there. Riding on the side of the road is pure Russian Roulette.

I agree with this 100%.  

Of course, bicyclers are some of the most insufferable jackasses on the road themselves too - not in this case - but I've seen the videos on youtube and I put them right up there with vegans.  No one deserves to die, though.

I used be an avid cyclist, not much anymore. When I do go out riding now, it's on paved trails, I never ride with cars anymore. Ever.

That said, it’s pretty stupid and I’d just not ride on the road or even shoulder just so I can’t get hit by some drunk or inattentive driver or assh0le

After seeing what I see on the streets/roads in my city on a daily basis, you couldn't pay me enough to drive a bicycle.
