MDC 6,617 Posted October 1 Fields: 70.6% completion, 3 TDs 1 INT, 98.0 rating, 145 yards rushing and 3 TDs. Caleb: 61.7% completion, 3 TDs 4 INTs, 72.0 rating, 79 yards rushing. Were duh Bears holding Fields back from reaching his potential all along? It would be crazy if they traded a franchise QB to Pitt for a song, only to draft roon another generational talent at quarterback.
edjr 6,228 Posted October 1 Quote Chicago Bears are the only NFL team to have never had a quarterback throw for 4,000 yards in a season. 50 different quarterbacks have thrown for 4,000 yards in a season, a feat that has happened 130 times in total Joe Namath did it in like 1936 or something
Hawkeye21 2,181 Posted October 1 Williams is on pace to have the 5th most passing yards in franchise history. That's with an extra game though. The QB position in Chicago has always been a disaster.

Sean Mooney 1,751 Posted October 1 The weapons that Caleb Williams has this year are better than what Fields ever had and that is even without Keenan really seeing the field yet. Caleb holds the ball too long at times which is what everyone saw would be his issue in the NFL. I was always of the thinking the Bears should've tried to trade that #1 pick to someone who needed a QB and then loaded up the offensive side of the ball behind Fields. Sean Mooney 1,751 Posted October 1 One sort of surprising thing with Caleb so far this year is he looks hesitant to escape the pocket and run. He dances a lot trying to throw the ball but could easily bail out and pick up chunk plays

I could say I dont know what sort of OL you guys have yet either. If you are blaming thr offense on the OL. Yet say Caleb can improve....then you are saying the OL can also improve and shouldnt be judged yet.

All the anti Bears dumbasses are wimps. Williams is doing things already that Fields will never be able to do in his career. Williams is literally learning to run the offense as QB and it's paying off already. This is not how Jayden Daniels is learning at this point. He's running a college first read or take off offense. I hope both Daniels and Fields turn out to be great, but the level of dumbassery about football in this and another anti Williams thread is simply stupefying. Voltaire 4,843 Posted October 7 I'm glad Fields is getting another shot as I never thought he was that bad and could well turn out to be another Baker Mayfield or Geno (or Sam Darnold?) discount bin reclamation project. The Steelers are not exactly thrilled with what he's been doing in Pittsburgh but he's not been a disaster either. The change of scenery was needed to re-evaluate and Pitt is as good a landing spot as he could have asked for. Five games in, Jayden Daniels looks like the rookie QB to have at this point; glad he's Philly and Dallas's long term problem in a different division. As for Williams, developing slowly is not unusual. He's 3-2 now but probably won't finish with a great record considering all those brutal division matchups he's not had to start dealing with.
