He's not even a politician. That's why it should be concerning the influence that he has. Let me dumb it down for you. 1) Trump and Congress worked together on a spending bill to keep the Govt funded and running for a few months that needs to be passed tomorrow. 2) Bill was agreed upon by all, approved by Senate and on it's way to the house for approval. Speaker had the votes. 3) President Musk starts x'ing about how the bill can't be passed, how it has to be killed. 4) Musk spends most of the day on the phone with Speaker Johnson telling him the bill can't be passed. 5) Musk then goes to Donald and convinces him the bill can't be passed. 6) Trump then tells Johnson to kill the bill. Johnson kills the bill. Get it?

Mike Honcho 5,097 Posted December 19, 2024 Quote Does the military get paid during a government shutdown? Currently, if the government shuts down without a funding bill for the Department of Defense signed into law, those serving in our Armed Forces will not receive their paychecks. Only those deemed “essential” would receive back pay once a shutdown ends and new federal funding is approved.Sep 19, 2024 I did not know that. Apparently 1.3 million active duty service members will go without pay. And... Quote Us border patrol affected by government shutdown? Over 19,000 Unpaid U.S. Border Patrol Agents and 25,000 Unpaid Office of Field Operations Officers: CBP agents and officers working at over 300 ports of entry and protecting more than 6,000 miles of border under challenging circumstances would be required to continue performing their vital missions without pay.Sep 28, 2023
