Nobody is against a strong military, evidenced by the fact we spend nearly 3X more than the 2nd biggest spender on military(I think that is insane and way too much of our GDP).  I'm not informed enough to comment on the first responders in this particular situation, but another thing most people don't cheap out on.  

But I'm specifically talking about money for natural disasters, global warming issues and the like and the GOP doesn't have a great track record when it comes to things like that.  See Texas a last year(?) when they were completely unprepared for a prolonged freeze, that experts had warned them would cause the exact results that happened.  So, a GOP run California spending money on fire prevention, and such, I don't see it happening.

Maybe. It does appear that the taxpayer raised money by the state government for forest management at the very least was not managed and allocated properly. Same with the money raised to build reservoirs, desalination plants, to battle the homeless issue, etc. Seems to me these were just clever ways to extract money from the pockets of the taxpayers. The one common denominator is Democrat leadership.

I have always thought we could easily get by with military expenditure equal to the next two biggest spenders, combined.

As for the GOP, well I have no more faith in them than I do the Dems, which is to say none.  I believe they eaach serve their own desire for power for their friends, and their friends are not their voters, they are their megadonors.

If it hasn't been mentioned, the Rams/Vikes game is officially moved to Phoenix on Monday.  Some people are butt hurt because our stadium is "State Farm Stadium," and they are hating on insurance companies.

My kids got tickets; my daughter works for a Minny-based company, and my son is just a big sports fan, and they were pretty cheap for playoff tix.  My wife and I are flying back from Michigan that day so we passed.

It's 3X - 916B vs 330B.  I misremembered stats, and it was the US spends more on military than the next 12 countries combined.  Been years, since I looked that up and now it's only the next 10 counties combined.

 I watched it. the main guy in the in the video says climate change is playing a part in these fires, he also says that Trump and Newsom came to agreement 4 years ago to better manage forests, so what point do you think the video is stating that puts the onus on democrats?

Its been years since I looked at the figures but I remember we spend something like three times as much as the next four or five nations combined, and some of those nations are our friends.  I think we need to find a way to make due with maybe spending only twice what Russia and China spend combined and be done with it,
